Cooper Cronk didn't want Kyle Flanagan
This will be denied by all and sundry at the Roosters - but Cooper Cronk didn’t recommend young Kyle Flanagan as the player to replace him in the number seven jumper at Bondi Junction next season.

It’s a delicate situation, because Cronk is working as a mentor and halves coach with Flanagan next season.

I’m hearing when the Roosters entered the market for a halfback, Cronk’s suggestion was to sign Brodie Croft from the Storm.

Cronk knew Croft’s potential from their time together in the Storm system and saw him as an ideal fit for the Roosters.

Croft has had his ups and downs over the past 18 months since Cronk left the Storm but has resolved his differences with the club and will stay in purple in 2020.

Could be an interesting situation if true.

Timing

Flanno was going decent just as Roosters realised they have no faith in the Lam(b)s - meanwhile Croft was still Storms starting 7

If Flanno doesn't string together some first grade games then quite possibly Roosters with Cronk successfully grab Croft later in the year.
And then Flanno signs for Dragons before season 2020...
