Official KL Iro

No clue.

But I'm interested to know if you keep a current list of your top 25 in every position? And if so do how often do you update it?
Is the bench considered one position regardless of the bench player, IE are Riley Jones stats lumped in with BHU

I asked ChatGPT what the odds were for KL to score a hat trick of tries for the third game in a row. Here is the response:

A third straight hat trick is still a long shot — even for a winger/centre in hot form like KL Iro.

Bookmakers currently have him around $2.10 for an anytime try against South Sydney Rabbitohs this weekend.

Using that implied probability (~47.6%) as a rough baseline, and assuming:

  • about a 48% chance he scores at least one try,
  • around a 15–20% chance of scoring a second once he gets one,
  • and maybe a 5–8% chance of getting a third,
you end up with estimated odds of roughly:

  • 12/1 to 20/1
  • or about a 5–8% chance of another hat trick.
That sounds high historically, but there are reasons it’s not absurd this week:

  • Souths’ right-edge defence was badly exposed last round, conceding multiple wing tries.
  • Cronulla’s left edge is on fire with Nicho Hynes, Teig Wilton and Iro combining well.
  • Iro has scored 6 tries in his last 2 games.
Still, three straight NRL hat tricks is extraordinarily rare. Even elite finishers like Alex Johnston or Josh Addo-Carr almost never do it in consecutive weeks, let alone three.

So the realistic summary is:

  • Anytime try: very plausible
  • 2+ tries: decent smoky
  • Hat trick again: exciting but unlikely — roughly one-in-15 territory.

It had me at hot!

Really thought he was very strong tonight and I was surprised he didn’t poll many votes. Perhaps because he didn’t score. But his in and away for Stonestreets try was a thing of beauty and he kept Moses Suli very quiet.
Especially as he was clearly way less than 100%..

Yet we rarely give him early ball
We don’t play that style at all hey.
I’d love a fancy fleet footed centre like Herbie but his talents would mostly be wasted in our team & structure.
It’s got me thinking, I wonder whether our style next season will still centre around our backs doing a heap of grunt work from our own end?
I know all teams do it but our team as much as any team use our backs to get us going.
I haven’t seen much of Gabrael at all but I’m expecting us to lose a bit with him replacing Jesse & Stoney being our other winger we only have Ronnie & KL as our dependable metre eaters.

We will rely on Nikora playing like he did yesterday - every week

I'd also love the best centre in the game, although I'm not sure 'structure' is his strong suit. Give him early ball and let him just beastmode is the tactic, and I am sure if we had him, we could figure that out.
Staggs can sometimes play similar but doesn't have the work rate for it so Broncos don't try and forcefeed him early ball too often.

I'd actually hoped to see similar from Iro this season but his form hasn't been there. I think he has the toolset to pull off being the next closest centre to Herbie in terms of being a weapon off early ball and creating broken play.

Ramien does Herbie like runs sometimes, where he crabs a bit but palms a few blokes off and can be quite disruptive and get quick ptbs. He doesn't do it anywhere near as much, and also doesn't do it as well. Herbie takes Ramien's best runs of these, and does that like 10 times a game instead once every 3 games. And without the noodlebrain moments.

I still hold out some hope that when Gabrael does get his chance in the top grade he’ll take to it like a duck to water. I think he can be a more eater for us but we have to give him time. His development is much like Iro’s I reckon.
