thats one thing about the sharks. as hard as they've struggled the last few years, both on the pitch and in the office, they've still got the right morals to stick behind one of their guys going through a hard period.

i'm not talking about shmucks like Seymour, but this situation makes me stoked to support this time as i wonder if other teams would do the same

but its funny, we dont get much good press about this do we?

Check back through this thread... There has been a fair bit of positive press for Jon.

It is unfortunate that people in general aren't conditioned to respond to positive kind of press in the same way they are conditioned to respond to sensationalist media releases...

From memory, a few of the articles came from the Cumberland Press Group (another fantastic News Limited lackey) - And 'cause of Tim, some of those articles did appear in rags out your way.

AWESOME! The win on Saturday really was the turning point!

The fact it was at SFS has meaning too, that's where it all started for mine, SFS in 2008.

BREAKING NEWS: Mannah From Heaven For Sharks?

BREAKING NEWS: Mannah From Heaven For Sharks?
BY BRAD FORREST
08 Jun, 2010 06:26 PM

Nine months after he was diagnosed with cancer, Cronulla Sharks prop forward Johnny Mannah is preparing to return to play this Saturday.

Mannah, 20, was found to have contracted lymphoma last year, after doctors discovered a "hot spot'' on his back.

With his future in doubt, Mannah was put on an immediate course of chemotherapy.

In February this year, just before his last treatment course finished, Mannah told the Leader that he "would return to footy''.

"I've been riding a bike and doing light workouts and I'm getting ready to do more training,'' he said.

And the 108kg forward, brother of Parramatta forward Tim Mannah, added: "And I have not lost any weight at all.''

He increased his training last month, and surprised trainers and team-mates with his efforts last week when he asked to be chosen in Cronulla's NSW Cup side, which plays Cup leaders Balmain at Henson Park on Saturday afternoon.

This afternoon he told officials: "I'm raring to go...if I feel this good I'll definitely be playing Saturday''

Also listed to play in Cronulla's NSW Cup side is fellow ex-Parramatta forward Josh Cordoba and centre Ben Pommeroy, who have had lengthy stays on the sideline with injuries.
