and a good coach

I don't think he has shoulders, his entire upper skeleton is all chest
I don’t hate Nathan brown ( will need to get past dragons hate) looks like a good guy to have a beer with and talk footy. So many coaches go to NZ trying to unlock the potential and then they all end up sitting in on the press conferences with the same totally confused look on their faces trying to explain the warriors team.
Wonder if they treat yesterdays loss worse than the 50+ -0 second half v storm (I Rekon it is )

I don’t hate him, but he didn’t have the best time at the knights either and eventually got moved on….
there must be something in that!

Yeah and don't forget this is their third year of living away from home, you can't underestimate the impact of that

Seems most of their fans are darker on yesterdays game than the Storm game

Referees boss stated that he would have been 'comfortable' with a decision to send Ramien off - instead of just a sin bin

Why doesn't everyone just get over it & move on, probably could have gone eitherway that decision but the decision was made & the referee decided against it. Annesly needs to move on, he's just made the game softer with all these stupid new rules & so much inconsistency in the game now. Talk about Kikaus error in the Penrith Parra game, that was a blatant knock on which they missed, he doesn't seem to be fussed on that one. Anyway, years ago that would have been a good shot as everyone said back then now how soft the game has gone how they say it's a grubby shot.

I don't hate Brown at all, I actually quite like him as both a good bloke and a coach that is pretty honest and frank and mostly remains relaxed and with perspective. I have respect for the guy.

Poor guy has gone as a coach to 2 struggling NRL clubs in recent years expected to rebuild and turn around years of bad culture, contracts, performances ect some how almost set up to fail and at Newcastle then gets punted for someone else to come in and take over after the dirty work is done.

Wonder if Knights would be in a better spot now if they just stuck it out with Browny and let him work with what he started to build.

But I can only judge him on what we see and outside of his coaching stint at the Dragons decades ago his NRL coaching record is poor and Jessie went backwards hard under him at the Knights after a break out season at the Sharks.

Would I have him over Fitz, no way

I don't think the ref on the day wanted to be the bloke that sent 2 players off in the same game and might have later discovered he got it a bit wrong.

He found a compromise but I think it helped that neither incident was intentional just careless - it seems pretty hard to get a good hard hit right these days, be bit of a shame if players go into their shells in defense if it isn't worth the risk of the penalty/sin ect. As fans we love seeing that aggression and momentum changer

Interesting looking back to the old way the game was played that while head high tackles were never legal a shoulder making contact with the head was acceptable. Spose it was also in an era without endless replays and camera angles and HIA's ect.

It looked like just a general old shoulder charge the way & angle I saw it from.

It was also because it was an accident in a body contact game.

Trying to put the onus on to the defender is what has made Rugby Union so soft as to be unwatchable.

The onus is on the defender to not hit a guy in the head. Sometimes there are mitigating circumstances (e.g. player falling to ground gets hit high), but I don't have a problem with the NRL saying we're going to protect the head.

Jesse got it wrong and not for the first time this year.
