His organising consists of everyone around him picking up his slack, being the main reason every left side attacking raid ends up over the sideline and letting forwards hog the ball in attacking areas. And the only thing steady about his game is his inability to read the game, as the chief "organiser" when has he ever targeted an opposition weakness in defence over 80 minutes - we end up doing things like bombing the tallest winger on the field all game or running 50 crash ball plays for zero tries.

He targeted Edrick Lee with bombs all day when they played raiders. Also targeted Toupu with the same tactic against the roosters earlier in the season. Robbo had a knack for finding and targetting opposition players strengths unlike any halfback in the comp. I'm just disappointed Flanno didn't go with him to the warriors. Was hoping theirs was a Bennett/Boyd like relationship.

I've heard it suggested that Bennett is actually Boyd's dad.

I think Robbo might be Flanno's dad.

Congrats to Robbo on getting a new contract.

It's hard to get an NRL contract at the best of times, let alone at 33.

This. The flak that Robbo has been getting on this forum is unwarranted. He isn't a flashy and effective halfback in the mould of Cooper Cronk or Ben Hunt but he was an honest toiler especially in defence.

It was Flanno's fault not Robbo's that the Sharks didn't have a half that could kick decently. Robbo just turned up and contributed by tackling. Flanno kept picking him and the team kept grinding it out as a result.

The public humiliation of 39-0 that we got from the Cowboys was always on the cards because our game plan was written on toilet paper - in other words it was ****.

It's Robbo's defence which will benefit the Warriors most. They have flashy players all over the place but they leak tries like a sieve due to woeful defence. Robson's work will help to plug the gaps.

As for attack - he can leave that job to Johnson, RTS and the others.

Part of the reason why Robbo has been here for so long is because he was the last man standing. He was never even brought to the club as a first choice.

We've had a whole heap of players move on or not work out in the halves for whatever reason during Robbo's reign.

AK, Wade, Carney,Chad, Nu, even the likes of Kyle Stanley couldn't put together a string of games for whatever reason. I'm sure there's more than I've listed that I've forgotten. Out of all the players I can think of the only one that was actually really moved on by the club was Chad. The rest were undisciplined or got injured while Robbo just kept showing up. So credit to him for that. He's made the best out of the ability that he has.

lets hope the days of the sharks having these types of players in game changing or influential positions is over

Well I wish him well, IMO he has been one of our best 7 in some basic arrears.
Great at getting forwards around, and defensively sound and by all reports a great club man.
Severely lacking individual plays, running ,passing ,any foresight.
Was cheap when we needed a cheap player, besides all that I wish him the best.

mate theres no denying he was a sound player. Yeah he probably did a lot of organising etc. and he could tackle. 1 thing that sticks out is him cutting down Jamal Idris from close range. However, he was no game breaker. I have little doubt with a halfback who had some serious ability in kicking and passing we went into the finals with a greater for and against and we won games by more than 4 points every week. His problem was, if we were having a shocker (cowboys game) and we are 30 metres out on the last, his biggest kick he could actually make went 35m and was returned to the half way line. That poor kicking time and time again had us defending our line and leaking easy points.

Im not making a joke here, but i see his best position as an assistant coach/trainer.

I think Robson has always had a decent footy brain, he just hasn't had the skills to back it up. He probably won't be the greatest coach in the history of the universe, but I think he'll definitely be a good one.

Continuely bombing to the tallest winger on the field shows the guy has no footy brain. Not sure why people think he has a good footy brain. There are plenty of things to prove he has no football smarts about him

But... but he gets us down the field by telling forwards to take hit ups. It's his work off the ball you don't notice.

More important signing for the warriors than Luke or RTS apparently.

Robbo is destined to be the instructor behind the curtains at a business yoga retreat.

No one has to look at his noggin and they all return to work feeling more settled and ready to tackle what's coming.

Think Hunt must have been watching the Robbo highlight real with some outstanding settling touch finders last night!
