he had an injury last year and played on to win the GF and Super cup - then had an ankle reconstruction

in that time he has had a lot of off field stuff

he is now way down the pecking order and won't be re-signed

Channel 10 reporting that Boogs is set to retire effective immediately.

FinsUp getting credit for this one Snowman?

Best Bukuya memory: the image of him kneeling head in hands after the final siren went in the GF in 2016. He was overcome with emotion and I think it summed him up. Played with his heart on his sleeve and loved his club and teammates. Thank you Jayson, all the best Boogie.

Second favourite memory: Him sprinting off the bench to make his debut replacing an injured centre and the first thing he does is murder some ****. Forgot who it was, but he bloody well smashed him out of his shoes.

Boogie is one of the good guys.
Sad to see him forced into retirement (be it injury or other) but what a way to go out with his last 2 victories.
Great reading for him:
NRL Premiership Player
11 Fijian caps
NSW Cup Premiership Player and Super Cup winner

Thanks for your service Boogs

Sad day, is only 31 which isn't ancient for a middle/edge player these days but can understand his decision all things considered. Barring injury felt he still had more to offer and a few good seasons left to play NRL or elsewhere. even as he slowed down and we used him more as a middle player/benchy later career he still had some beast games for us in that capacity. Better player than a certain potato head looking spud in our team right now

Was the closest thing we had to a threat on the edges in some rubbish late 2000's squads - was better than our centres at the time

Had his detractors but I will miss you Jason Boogey Baaaaaaaaaaaaakuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Thanks for all your hard work and efforts for the Sharks you legend, enjoy the next step, hope we still see you around the club

Will be lining up for his pay out from the club now.

Good career though. Part of the 2016 crew. Dunno how he got back on the field in the grand final but meh we won.
Thanks for your service

And he deserves it, never embarrassed the club and played with plenty of heart over the years

Weird flex, but he uploaded the Sharks Harlem Shake video (!!), which in turn actually helped us retain a few sponsors during ASADA

*Edit*

Here it is, 500k views, is that better than that lip syncing kid we paid?

Very disappointed to hear that, love ya Boogs! Always put in 110% effort for us & was pretty loyal, he realised he's home was here soon after he left mid career. I'm so pleased he won a premiership with us, was always one of my favourites. Absolute legend!
