I reckon Hynes will be a fan favourite. He plays his heart out as well as being insanely skilled.
Big shift from (one of) best teams fullback to middle teams (potentially) halfback - may well be some growing pains

There's a fair lineup of stick recipients in waiting forming. Ronnie, Toby, Brailey, Tracey, Trindall, Hynes, Graham, Nikora, Moylan, Ramien... Most of the squad is a two game from slump away from a paddlin'!

Chad leaving has the whips squarely aimed at Brailey but I reckon Hynes is going to take a few lashes while we are at it

Moylan won't be fit enough for long enough to shoulder the week to week festivities of disgust

If there isn't a player to blame why even follow a Rugby League team and post on the internet lol
Trindall and Hynes are a mad combo but I wouldn't be surprised if Hynes isn't good enough to cut it for us at 6 (only judging it off his games in the halves for storm) and that could be ugly because his only other position we know of is 1.

If one of those blokes you mentioned can’t cut it I’m pretty sure it won’t be Hynes.

Also btw… he has played everywhere 1-7 competently, plus a bit of 9 and 13 in a pinch. Absolute worst case (and highly unlikely) scenario is that he becomes a very expensive centre or bench utility.

I'm yet to see Hynes do it in the halves at an NRL level

1-7 both. Not a lot of wing though.

9 and 13. Storm only.

Oh I agree. He's a good player though. Better than any other half prospect the Sharks have on the books.
Let's hope you're right

It's also not like he's had a whole bunch of time and hasn't impressed. He's played 2 games in the halves for the Storm - both at 7. Did his job well in both.

Probably one of the most noticeable things about his game is that he is always pushing up through the middle in support, no matter which jersey is on his back. He is also fantastic passer on both sides of his body. You can't say that of Moylan or Trindall . They both have a "good" and "bad" side. This makes him equally effective when playing half on either side of the field.

Running, passing and playmaking he has covered. Defence and kicking are the only question marks.

*More non-Berrell in the Berrell thread. Sorry guys.

The other thing I've noticed about him is that he creates his own time when he has the ball in hand, if that makes sense. He doesn't rush things, unless he wants to, and the defence kind of hangs back waiting to see what he's going to do, a bit like Thurston.

Connor Tracey would be thinking "I want to be Hynes when I grow up"

I watched the last couple of games Berrell played and had the feeling he was trying too often to score from dummy half.

10000000% the support thing is more Craig Bellamy then anything. Our two rookie coaches have been rubbish in regards to the 1%ers - that is something that the coaches drive

Maybe it's more Hynes than Bellamy. Some players are just more hungry for involvement.
