I remember in the 90's there was a car with a massive fin on the top that someone drove from Canberra for every home game... Is that still around?

Is her salon on Rocky Point Rd? I had the car parked there a few weeks back when I was getting my tax done.

Yeah, that's putting it mildly! I'm actually a Chrysler tragic, I love just about anything Mopar, especially their muscle cars of the late sixties early seventies.

Why are you getting a VE? They were regarded as probably the worst of the Valiant models. VF or VG were much better in that body shape. Personally, I think the AP5/AP6 or VC Safari are the pick of the Valiant wagons, looks wise. The VF or VG are better mechanically though, with the Hemi.

Probably my favourite Valiant though is the VF or VG coupe, used to have a VG 770 Regal, wish I'd never sold it!:(

Why are they considered the worst? Mechanically? They have a very similar shape to the vc. The car we are looking at is mint and cheap + I like the shape of the safari

They were considered a bit unreliable, first of a new design I guess. If you find a good one though and you like it, go for it!

Are you sure it's a VE? They don't look like the VC, they look like a VF, or VG.

Here are some's pic's. First is a VE wagon, second a VC. For the record, the VC is basically just an AP5/6 with a different body. Otherwise, mechanially they are almost identical. On the other hand, the VE was a whole new design.

We were looking at another vc but this one appeared similar but was bigger and in better nick. I told my other half about the "unreliability" call and that concerned her - its going to be her car sort of. It seems like there is alot of room under the bonnet to work on motor myself if need be. Due you know of the mechanical issues associated with the car? Cant find anything on google.

It won't be the motor or gearbox, Chrysler stuff is bullet-proof. I think from memory it was more to do with the new body. As it was a new design, I think there may have been some teething issues resulting in a few fit and finish problems.

If the body seems in good nick, doors fit and close properly, no rust etc then it should be OK. I had a VF sedan, it was a great car, you'll love it!

You are right about the VE, they are bigger than the VC or AP5/6.
