Yeah why not, if he is still making the same errors after a few years in FG it gets pretty old. Most of his dropped catches are just off easy ones you would expect a first grader to catch.

I took out that comment because I’ll admit it wasn’t the most compelling but you’re too quick to reply haha.
Are they reducing, is he improving? I'd say yes with no stats to back that.

Carrying over 2021's negatives into '23 is rough IMO. And it wasn't just an uncompelling argument I think it shows the exact opposite. 95% good aint bad in any language & its not even a proper representation.

I think up until around the 50 game mark is where players can be given a bit more of a pass, but he is approaching 100 games and still dropping cold really straightforward catches in limited minutes on the field. I can see that he brings a lot of other positives to the team but I just hope he can show some improvement in his handling.

It would be interesting to see the stats, not sure if there is a way to view for previous seasons or not but his errors do seem to stand out. Maybe there is a bit of bias there due to his rep and it’s not been as bad as I think but I doubt it.

Yeah all good let that one slide for me haha, I agree it was a silly comment. Didn’t think it through, but I guess my point was that his mistakes always seem to be very basic ones. Sometimes Wilton for example will drop a fair few that are tough ones where he’s in a try scoring position that Moylan gives to him and you can sort of understand them (even though I think his handling definitely needs to improve as well, it’s still early days for him).

Another great performance.

Yes one mistake (which most Cronulla forwards made yesterday)

But good in offence and great in defence.

Definitely slows and controls the ruck. Strong and mobile.

Certainly doing better than I thought he would post his injury. Good on him, has made himself impossible to drop.

he is way to good to be dropped

my ideal bench going forward

mcinnes
williams
hazleton

4th bench spot can be dependant on opposition, form, injury, suspension ect - made up from jesse c, kaufusi, hunt, wade, tracey
I wish we rotated our bench a bit more when the opportunity arises. Give game time to Jesse C and freshen up someone like Kaufusi for a game here or there.

Specifically on Jesse C, I'm actually OK with the way they are handling him. An NRL cameo at some stage would be a nice reward for his effort, but having him play big minutes in NSW Cup is the way to get the best out of him long term imo. With the injury, byes, and a couple of games missed as NRL 18th or 19th man, he's only played 7 or 8 games this year so getting those minutes in to him is key.

He is just like brailey … would be good to be world beaters when it’s against a tough team

It’s always the same thing ; and it’s going to be a while until a good test comes up

I do think there is benefit of him playing regular large minutes but after doing so in NSW cup for 2-3 months I would intersperse this with a couple of games from the bench and give him some some time in first grade. I would not have him as 18th. Pick him and play him. Graham and Tracey can be 18th and 19th man.

Does he need a freshen up? If he is being kept fresh for a game here or there is he not playing cup if not in the NRL?
Not sure I'm following what the tactical benefit of the end bit is... are you just saying drop Kaufusi for Colquhoun?

I am saying to rotate some of the forwards, It is not dropping them on form. The roosters used to do this quite regularly. change the make up of the bench to suit the team they play and provide a chance for someone who has a niggle to freshen up. (Granted this was more important with no byes) but we should definitely look at this late in the year. It then also gives us a chance to give game time and experience to players who will step up.

Players I would rotate are Hunt, Kaufusi, Graham, Jesse C and Hazleton.

Hunt is not playing like an established first grader.
Graham likewise
Kaufusi is young and a lot of the younger players burn out a bit during the year as they don't have the same training age and experience. The season is long and he has played most or every game this year. Need to keep him fresh for finals.

Jesse C and Hazleton need to be provided with time in first grade as they are the future of our pack. Hazleton has had this and look how he is flourishing. Jesse C needs the same opportunity.

Okay I'm following now, talking about rotating a few people in and out. Hard to say from my perspective that I know Kaufusi or anyone could use a week off to freshen up. Once Rudolf is back though we probably are in a position where anyone who could benefit from a week off can get it. Not sure on where I stand on a rest just for the sake of it though - I'm sure coach would have some kind of position on it.

Is Hazleton going good in NRL because he got an opportunity or did he get an opportunity because it arose and he was playing well enough in Cup to take it?

Colquhoun sounds like he is playing well in Cup though so if an opportunity arose, even through someone getting a week off to conserve body, I'd expect him to make a go of it.
