the last time the sharks won 6 games in a row was in 2002 when we finished one game short of the grand final, which raises an interesting question how does our current team compare to our team in 2002?

thanks mark after looking at the 2 teams i think our current team has a better forward pack but our 2002 team had a better back line, i guess on that basis i would say they are hard to judge. lets hope we can improve on 2002

The other thing is, say our curent squad gets a premiership, in ten years people will look back on a lot of this squad with nostalgia and have them up there or above players like Peachey.

A lot of the reason why you look at the 2002 list and think it's awesome, is because it's players from an awesome era.

Still early days to be comparing those teams guys, it might be fairer to compare them later in the season.

Me too mate, one of the most underrated forwards in the game.

He was great in scrums. I remember him giving another prop (can't remember who it was) a sly uppercut when they were packing, the other guy retaliated and we got the penalty :)

Can you talk about it with out tearing up poppa.

1973 I can, I was pretty young. '78 upset me for a few years because we were outright robbed.

1999 still hurts a lot - we were so far ahead of every other team all year until that one second half of football from hell.

My marriage broke up that year also, and I was looking to that finals series as "at least something will go right for me this year"

Painful.

Yeah my old man still has nightmares about 78. That was our closest ever chance
Feel you about 99 poppa. I was devastated For a long time especially as I thought we were going to go to the grand final after leading 8-0 at half time. Bloody mundine and blacklock
