By the time Warner batted the ball was skidding on from the dew.

Favourable conditions and he did look set for a good innings.

His confidence was up and he was using his feet and attacking the ball.

He wouldn't have lasted an over though if the Thunder had batted first. Khawaja had to survive some difficult conditions to start with.

Don't worry mate, I'm sure you won't be dropped.
The arrogance of him announcing when he’s to retire as well…

He should’ve been dropped a while ago. It’s just a shame Pucovski isn’t around

Agree with all of that.

Should have been dropped after the Indian series. 100%

Head at 5 is a waste. We can put a number of players in the role of steadying the ship at five but we can’t with openers. He’s played opener and killed it against India.

How is he a waste at 5? Don't really understand that.

Very small sample size as an opener.

Bring in Renshaw.

Wish we had an old school blocker/leaver to select as opener for the next 2 tests.

Bill Lawry/Chris Rogers/Tubby Taylor ilk.

Just to drive the Bazball pom fans crazy.

The evidence is painfully clear to everyone except Warner and his bubble-mates. In England, a batting average of 25.54 over four tours. Overseas, an average of 31.40 in 49 matches. Since Warner’s return from his 2018-19 ban following the sandpaper scandal, his batting average is 14.75 in England and 18.33 overseas. The Stuart Broad hex is just one instance of an enduring pattern.

I don't particularly follow cricket. I've seen about 5 minutes max of Ashes, and those are clips from controversy.
But like all sports I do like Australia to win it, I have kept an eye on this thread.
Info on Warner in here, and from my mates who are big cricket fans, stats like that, it is blatantly obvious the guys performance isn't anywhere near up to scratch. So clearly he is there for his influence off the field
Wait, that's meant to be **** too, isn't it?
