Shoulda we aline our selfs with group 16
They have no NRL club affiliation
And it would increase our player market.

Absolutely...Always believed that stronger links to country clubs should be better promoted. Good in many ways . However I daresay it'll not happen.

The area is up for grabs. Storm spent a week down here when they played Raiders in the trial at Bega and gained a lot of fans from it.

The group itself is very poor but a lot of talented youngsters come out of the area.

Is Cooma still in group 16, or are they back in the Canberra comp? They seem to have the majority of players in the League.

Can't think of many in recent years who have made the grade; Mick Wheyman, Dale Finucane, Deon Apps had a few games with Souths.

There would be a lot of unseen potential down there that clubs arent aware of.

How can we get the club to take notice of this idea
Show them the average age of the first grade sides, a lot of old blokes still playing down here and most of the talented youth leave to pursue careers early. Therefore average ages are up around 30 that should get Sharp and Flannos attention.

As an interesting note though a young bloke that I used to work with was approached to trial for Cronulla last year from group 16. He never went up for it as he didn't think he would ever be good enough to play in the NRL.
