I'll be making my coaching debut in a half hour... any tips? @burgess1978 , any data I should be collecting?

It's under 8's soccer, btw.

Just training tonight. And the old 'you'll do laps if you don't focus' totally backfired... Three of the kids loved the idea, the little buggers

Yep, it’s not a punishment any more. They love doing laps for some reason.

Good on you mate. Too many people either don't care, think it's too hard or make up excuses.

I was thinking of coaching my son's under 7s side this year but another guy, whom I know quite well, loves doing it.

I'll help him out at training and on game days.

Cheers HB. It's good fun really. And I'm lucky the parents are great. My mate is coaching the u5's and said he could feel the parents eyes driving into him the whole session..! Crazy that anybody gets that serious, especially at that age

Some people are just knobs. People like that never seem to put their hand up to coach.

That was part of jumping in. There's plenty of those parents I wouldn't want coaching the kids

True but I reckon 80k at a proper rectangle ground is much better than 100k at an oval shaped ground.

Guess the promoters don't give a toss though, they just want as many there as possible.
