He's starting to show the impact he had in Flegg with some of those tries. I hope the club sticks with him and see what he has.
I’d love for that to happen but I think our middles stocks are becoming a bit too crowded for him to get any reasonable opportunity with us.

He's a different sort of forward to many we have re-signed though. Williams, Colquhoun, Hazleton etc don't have that small minute big impact energy. BHU is, i'm not sure where Kaufusi will sit, but outside of that we have Fifita, Hunt and Pele off contract.

I think there is a place for him yet. 1-2 years, will mostly play reserves unless he improves significantly or we have an injury crisis. But show him a path to the 17 jersey if he applies himself. If another club wants to give him FG time now though, well there's nothing we can do about that.

From the members night… Fitzy said they are disappointed to lose him. Didn’t sound like he was just being diplomatic either

Neutral Dogs fan here, is Franklin Pele a good signing for us? Is there some reasons why he cant make the sharks top grade? Cheers and congrats on the win last night. Cracker game.

Thanks mate. Has a lot of potential but whether it's work ethic or lack of consistency he just couldn't really crack the NRL team.

A fresh start may do him well. If someone can get the best out of him he could be a great forward.

Tough ball runner, lazy defender. Not really an effort player. Hopefully he turns into one as he could be great. He was a long way off our side though.

Off the back fence he can be devastating, absolute ****ing wrecking ball. But from what I've seen his engine is pretty small and is a liability in defence, especially laterally.

He is certainly a prospect though and I am sure we would have rather kept him but I guess lucky enough to have other priorities that have unfortunately pushed him out. He is big, strong and seems very willing to throw himself into things and at only 21 he's got plenty of time to hit his straps as a prop. I know I will keep a keen eye if/when he makes first grade.

I was a huge fan of him in the juniors because he was very damaging, always scoring tries but that type of play hasn’t transferred to NRL level and he hasn’t show the match fitness and defensive ability to suggest he’ll be much more than a 15min super sub.

That’s not to say he won’t become a decent NRL player but I would curb expectations and I’d be shocked if he’s in your 17 next come Rd 1

Also I don’t think you’ll find many people upset he’s going but that probably speaks for how many props we have better than him but that’s a telling observation imo - how opposition fans feel about the player going

Yeah, doesnt seem the type of player Ciraldo would choose considering his mindset is prioritizing defense. Thanks for the reply.

I like Franky, he‘s got the potential to be an absolute wrecking ball for your blokes. His sheer size makes him a handful and if it wasn’t for our very deep depth of options up front, he’d probably would be playing first grade by now.

I think his biggest weakness is his defence. He is slow laterally and gets run around way too easily and can also be lazy in making a tackle. If Cam can fix that then you’ve got yourselves a proper weapon.

We can't keep everyone.

Hazelton and Colquhoun look like much better prospects.
We are gonna have to start adjusting a lot more to this because we have developed one of the best junior pools and pathways and like we've already seen with Dykes poorer clubs will come in with offers (like guaranteed first grade) that we can't match, so we will lose some.

But I am confident we are building an organisation that the right guys understand they are at a good club and it's worth sticking around in case your opportunity to play for the sharks pops up. You could be like Nicho who bides his time and learns a lot at a good club, gets a chance, shows what he's got and who knows?

You're right. We've built a great, GREY NURSERY at the Sharks. We seem to have developed some talented juniors. It's only a matter of time until other clubs come poaching.
