With all the Barrett, Bird and Seymour talk around, where does Blake Green fit into the picture? He seems to have dissapeared off the rader. Perhaps it's due to form but does it sound like it would make sense to have Green at half and Seymour where he is (he seems to be thriving in the running 5/8 role)?

He is not considered a 1st grader yet. Ricky has said that Green needs to step up a level.

green is forgotten because he got injured after his one first grade game and hasnt exactly been setting the world on fire

IMO Bort I think Barrett would be a good acquisition for the Sharks. I believe his style of play will compliment Seymour and Bird. I love Noddy as a player but running the Ball is not his strong point. He is a great kicker and when he does have a go with ball in hand has confused the hell out of the opposition. He just doesn't do it enough.

As the General on the field the halves have to lay out the plays and execute them. Before Sundays game we looked lost in the opposition 20 with no idea what we would try next. That's not going to get us far in the NRL.

I have never been a Barrett fan but I have to say I think he would combine well with Seymour and add new dimensions to out on the line attack.

Seymour is going to be a star IMO and Green will also benefit from working with Barrett.

Thats my opinion anyway

Do you know Stick's thoughts on Karl Filiga, Nathan Stapleton, Shane Pumipi, Trent Grubb, Luke Hume &/or Tu'u Maori samshark? Thanks in advance mate. :cheers

Has anyone been watching Green play for the Cobras, and if so how has he been going in such a poorly performed outfit?

I saw his first game back against Wests, he didn't really do much. Though to his defence Wests were winning the ruck area, had more possession and field position aswell. Also to take into account our side against Wests was probably one of our better sides with Brown, Goodwin, Selmes, Su'a, Millington & Moa all playing.

Bort, just not convinced on the Barrett front yet. And there is no certainty we will get him (although it's sounding more likely every day). If he ended up elsewhere, what would our best option be? Is Green up to it? I personally think Bird needs to stay in at lock.

i think bird to 5/8 is our best option because it maximises how many of our best players are on the field

No mate. Other than being a member and ticket holder I am not connected to the club at all. I get the news from the same sources you would i.e. the media and forums

Cant offer much on those mentioned other than Stapleton is highly regarded and recently signed a 2 year deal. Sticky has said that he has come along quicker than expected and I guess sees him pushing hard for an NRL spot next year. I dont expect Covell to be resigned and I think Stapleton is looked at stepping up into that role.

With Pumipi, isnt he a half back from NZ signed this year. Came highly rated and I am sure he was going to be Sticky's pet project.

Finally someone that agrees with me. He is a lock, IMO he is 5/8 for nsw cause they wanted a defender and ball runner in 5/8.
why not have him in lock, a 5/8 and a 7 all on at once gives the team more options in attack.

green can play 5/8,7 and 9..he is one for the future and he will develop into a great footy player if ricky helps him and he sticks with him..!

he can do it and no half or 6 would perform in the cobras..

Agreed. Could well be the answer to our hooker dramas for next year. I like the look of a Green/Seu Sue rotation next year. Kingston can grab a contract in England.

Thats 100% right.

I think that green will be there next year. But we still need some one as a backup trent is a good 5/8 but so good at 7. SEYMOUR is as good at 7 as 6. so i think that maybe next year we should just get some one as a backup to green (6) and SEYMOUR (7)

After seeing some ESL matches, I want Barrett, he is playing really well for Wigan and he is going to do well when he comes back to the NRL. He and Phil Bailey will be the exceptions to the can't-return-to-the-NRL-and-play-well-after-playing-in-England rule.
