I just read an article on the Fox Sports website - seems people are complaining about food and drink prices at the footy again. This is always comes up every year but nothing ever happens.

What does everyone on here think of food and drink prices. I've done a simple poll asking yes/no, do you think that food and drink prices at the footy are overpriced. Feel free to comment on what you think the solutions may be. Or you may be happy with the prices, feel free to comment on this as well.

In your head, rent free
i voted no.

they are over priced if you compare it to a pie shop in westfield, however, they are cheap when comparing them to other events.

getting food at soundwave this year was the cost of a small operation the the liver. as were drink prices.

people will always say its expensive when compared to shops, but thats comparing apples with watermelons. compared to other events, like the easter show, festival ect, the footy is pretty cheap.

I voted no.

it sucks that the only fuill strengh beer option is VB, would rather Blonde as another option - but is is pretty reasonable compared to other large events you go to.

With food, I normally have a feed at home before i go to the footy anyway

I voted yes purely from the perspective of families that go to the game.

It's bloody expensive to go to the footy these days and it's little wonder most choose to watch it at home.

Not forgetting I heard complaints on the radio again last Sunday about the food queues at the ground being shocking.

Being at the game myself I thought they were a bit long and $4 for a bottle of Pepsi is absurd.

When you take the family it is expensive, add a couple of bucks to each item and times it by 4 or 5 people.

If you can't get through 80mins of footy without having a drink you've got enormous problems. If you've got kids it can't be that hard to pack them some food and drink.

Cheap compared to music festivals. Expensive compared to your local bowlo. Probably line ball compared to most other footy grounds except the big stadiums. Therefore I vote no.

I vote no. 4 dollars for a Pepsi is what a dollar markup. Try going to the Easter show or soundwave. I have never paid so much for a bottle of drink.

How much are beers at Shark Park?

At Suncorp my issues are that they basically serve mid strength XXXX in plastic cups. I don't care about the food. It's easy to have dinner or lunch before a game so just do that if you're tight. I don't see the need to eat during a game.

Sounds about right. A lot of rundown blue collar pubs are charging over $5 a schooner these days (of megaswill like Tooheys New etc)

Yeah its not too bad.

A couple of years ago it seemed steep, but i think most of the pubs have now caught up with the footy prices.

My problem is that I stood in a que for 45 minutes on saturday night at the pie van and when I ordered a quarter chicken and chips they told me that they don't sell chicken and chips, must be the Sharkies fault.

Agree to a certain extent. I like having a beer at the footy but if a beer was $10 I would have no problems not having one.
