If he's not a guaranteed starter for the next 3 years I'm not fussed but supercoach doesn't drop underachievers as shown by gordon and robson getting picked every week.

My real worry with Flanno is he's going to put Barba on the bench, Bird at fullback with Leutele partnering Beale. I don't like it and I think the majority on here don't either.

Unfortunately I'm 90% sure that's what he'll do.

I'm 99.9% sure this will happen.

I know we're not the ones seeing them train every day and all that but i just don't see why that's his preferred backline at all. And i think he'd be too stubborn to change it if it didn't work out as well, it'd take an injury before he'd stumble across the right backline and then suddenly he's a genius..

It's probably being done to appease Bird, which I'm not too unhappy about because I want to keep him long term.

Either

1. He'll be **** and then moved. In which case, he's at least been given an opportunity which you would think he'd be grateful for. He might even come to the conclusion himself that he's more comfortable at centre. That would be good for us.

2. He'll be decent and he stays there. That scenario isn't too bad. It's not my preferred team, but if he's good it won't be so bad.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Flash was rank average last year and was kept there. It is a team sport, do what's best for the team. As has been said a million times, I can't see how having Bird, Val and Barba all starting isn't in the best interests of the team.

If he does this, it shows he has **** for brains as a coach.

Call me an armchair critic i couldn't give a ****, blind freddy could see that it is not our most potent backline nor does it utilise the talent at our disposal in the most effective way.

I have no doubt that Bird would play well as fullback in the attacking zone, ball playing, chiming into backline movements etc but i very much doubt he'd be better than barba on things like positioning for kicks and actually catching high balls, fielding grubbers etc. Though the creagh tackle aside i don't think barbas goal line defence is great either, doesn't show a whole lot of urgency to put his body between the player and the tryline like a slater or stewart would.

Plus its still Val i want to see become our long term fullback.

Well said

And as you said the other day HB, he picked Mitch Brown in round 1 last year instead of Val. Went the cautious route.
There is going to be an uproar if it is Bird at Fullback, Barba on the bench and Leutele in the centres. Wonder if I should email him...What do you think Gal? :gal:

Training the house down is one thing but what does that matter if a player can't transfer that to NRL games and perform when under pressure when results are at stake (Ricky...)

I roll my eyes every pre season when I hear Flanno say how hard the team is working and training really well cause ya just know they are still gunna come out and play like a rabble

I felt genuinely disgusted seeing Arana Taumata in our jersey.

You're gonna have to refresh my outrage. I know he's almost had more Clubs than FG appearances but I can't recall what his indiscretions were.

Sacked from 7 different clubs for a range of offences, plenty involving alcohol. The lowlight was when he stole a perscription pad from the Penrith club doctor. He's had way too many chances, he just won't learn. Don't want this grub associated with our club.
