Fantasy EPL 2010/11

Fresh off my Fantasy World Cup victory (Hehehe!) I took the time to set us up a Fantasy EPL Competition on the official Premier League website. For those who can't be bothered reading instructions, here's quickly how it works...

...You get $100m to buy a squad of 15 players, each player valued differently according to how well they perform.

...The players you pick get points according to how well they perform in real life.

...The team with the most points win the league.

That's everything in a nutshell.

Now, to enter the comp, follow this link http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ and register your team. Once you've done that enter these two different league codes to enter our Sharks Forever competitions. One is a classic scoring league (most accumulative points win) and the other is a head to head league. The codes are:

Sharks Forever v.1: 30439-12082
Sharks Forever v.2: 30439-12090

I expect to see everyone in here that loves their EPL to enter this, hence it has its own thread. See you there, boys!

I am hopeless at fantasy leagues,I let real life hatred or admiration get in the way of my decisions.

Well, the mediocre's have entered the comp. I do not know how good my team is, hence the name.

Goalkeepers are: Reina (Of course) and Paul Robinson

Defenders are: Sagna, Shawcross, Figueroa, Collins and Samba

Midfielders: Gerrard (Better not go to madrid now ) Scott Parker, Yaya Toure, Adam Johnson, and Taylor

Forwards: Torres, Bent and Crew.

I had a quick browse of the scoring, I don't know if I missed it or if it just simply wasn't there but, do you score points for tackles and completed passes? Or is it just goals, assists, clean sheets?

Could be different this year, but I don't think you get points for passes etc. However they do offer up to three bonus points for any player who has a standout performance (which does factor in things like passes/tackles)

Mids: Lampard/Modric/Murphy/Palacios/Jenas

Haha, my team changes all the time. Remember that you don't have to play a standard 4-4-2. You can play a 3-4-3 or a 5-4-1 or whatever really. In seasons past the real bread and butter was in the midfield with the likes of Ronaldo, Lampard and Gerrard. Last year however the strikers (Drogba and Rooney in particular) really came out to play. At the moment, my team looks like this...

Schwarzer / Sagna, Terry, Vidic / Walcott, Bale, Lampard, Emerton, De Jong / Van Persie, Drogba

I can guarantee you that won't be my team when the season starts though. You can change it as much as you want until the opening kickoff without losing points or anything. My final team will depend on a few transfers here and there.

Reina / Toure- Craddock - Upson / Valencia - Arshivan - De Jong - Malouda - Scholes / Anelka - Rooney

Sacrificed a fair bit in the back 3 to have a loaded midfield. Rooney and Anelka up front aren't too bad. Was thinking about havin' Bent in for Anelka, but thought Anelka might step up this season after his anger from the cup.

Also, signed up as the Failures because I know I won't win this.

I'm unclear on one thing. It says you are only allowed a maximum of three players from any given team. At the moment I have three from Chelsea (Drogba, Lampard and Terry) in my team. But what happens when Torres signs with us? Do I have to bump someone else out?
