I know this player isnt a Premier League player anymore but I havent started the new A-League thread yet so here it goes:

Alexandre Pato is in negotiations with Sydney FC.

Oh and Nottingham Forest’s winger Joe Lolley is apparently set to join Sydney FC as well. 29 years old and many still think he’s definitely good enough for the Championship. This could be a fantastic pickup if they get the deal over the line.

Casemiro to United looks like its done. They FINALLY get a proper 6 after all these years of needing one. This wont save the Glazers though.

Hope he stays at Celtic. Think he should go another 1-2 seasons , there will always be jobs available in PL.

One for you @Sir Chadley

Socceroos midfielder Tom Rogic is close to signing with WBA as a free agent.
Rogic still not announced but those I know close to the club are saying it's a done deal. Would it be because we are still in a period of mourning and no announcements of any kind should be made while we are in that period?

Not sure. Maybe. Or maybe they’re still assessing his fitness. He’s been without a club for a while. Should be ok though, he’s been training on his own pretty well here in Sydney.

Boy do we need Rogic on the park right now. 3-2 defeat at home this morning to Birmingham who are near the relegation zone.

We have bought two other old guys, Erik Pieters and Martin Kelly, don't know much about them at all. Looks like they are veterans though with their younger years passed by.

Erik Pieters is a Dutch international, but not a regular in his career Im pretty sure. Played for Stoke (and Burnley too I think) in the EPL for years. He’s 34 now and he’s a left back, which is a hard position to play effectively when your 34.

Martin Kelly was at Palace for ages. He’s 32 which isnt that old for a CB. He should go ok.

martin kelly was a wonder kid at liverpool, every year we just expected him to break out and become an absolute beast - he was our hope for a long term right back

in the 13/14 almost season, he played a game next to sakho and they destroyed norwich, and everyone thought this was it, then he got injured and i dont think we ever saw him again

sold him to palace for 10 mil

i dont know if he transitioned into a CB but he was always a RB when I watched him

Thanks guys. Not sure how they are going to go with us. Pieters did come on late for us today in his first game, but he had to as Bartley our CB was having an absolute mare and was responsible for at least 2 of the goals against us. Steve Bruce they say is not the answer, yet he has now brought in all of these players on frees, how can they sack him now? The blame should rest with our Chinese owner Mr Lai, he actually borrowed millions from the club which I understand he has not yet paid back. We should have had funds to buy or get on loan really good players but because of his ineptitude, we have not been able to do this.

I really fear we are heading for League One, which for a founding club, will be an absolute disaster. Long way to go this season of course and who knows, perhaps Rogic can provide some spark but it does not look like the players are playing for Bruce at the moment.

They’re owned by an American moron who thinks the Premier League should be more like American franchise sports. He probably sacked him because he thinks the EPL is 17 games like the NFL.
