Apparently the Jules Kounde situation is developing. Sevilla originally demanded that any interested clubs pay the full 80 million Euros release clause fee to sign him. This is apparently no longer the case because Kounde is starting to agitate for a move himself. Sevilla have apparently dropped the price down to 60 mil Euros (about 50 mil pounds) which is similar to the amount that Real Madrid and United are working around for Varane (40-50 mil pounds).

It also appears Kounde has indicated that he will only move to a Champions League club which has effectively ruled out two interested parties in Tottenham and Arsenal, this apparently leaves only two interested clubs. Real Madrid and Manchester United. So according to a number of different journos and other sources, Kounde’s future is now intriguingly linked with Varane. If Varane leaves Real Madrid and goes to United, Madrid will use the cash on Kounde, if Varane changes his mind and stays at Madrid. United will make a play for Kounde.

All rumours of course and there is always the chance that United’s board of clowns botches both deals and end up with nothing.

my take - madrid get both

Apparently they wont because they want to use Alaba at CB and Real Madrid need the money from the Varane deal to make a play for Kounde.

But like I said, I wouldn’t be surprised if United botch the deal so badly that they get nothing. I have zero expectation of this boards competence. A Varane/Kounde, CDM and Sancho window with the addition of moving on some deadwood (Pereria, Jones, Matic etc) will restore a little bit of that faith though, but I still definitely remain Glazers out.

Matty Ryan: Brighton (by way of Arsenal) >>>>>> Real Sociedad. Unsure of the fee if there was one. Done deal.

Opportunity for regular first team football with a very decent team in the Europa League. He isn’t a shoo in for the role despite Moya leaving as Remiro played every game as first choice last season, but Matty is certainly good enough to unseat him.

Kounde -> spurs

Maddison -> arsenal

The latest doing the rounds

Kounde has said only wants to go to a Champions League club. I think he’ll go to Real Madrid.

Is that Maddison as in James Maddison? From Leicester? And he wants to go to Arsenal? Man what a step back.

smart man really

Absolutely. He’s good enough for a Champions League club, if United get Varane I still think he ends up at Madrid.

And keeping with the theme:

Kalidou Koulibaly Napoli >>>LOL>>>> Everton. I put this one in the highly unlikely category. Everton have apparently made a bid but like Kounde, Koulibaly will probably only move to a Champions League club.
