RL players in Leeds brawl face jail

Two Super League players have been warned they could be jailed after pleading guilty to affray following a mass brawl in Leeds city centre.

The pair, who play for Catalans Dragons of Perpignan, France, were at Leeds Crown Court alongside four Leeds men.

All six were among nine men arrested after a fight on Boar Lane in the early hours of Monday February 8, after the French club had lost against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at Belle Vue on the Sunday.

Setaimata Sa, 22, and Dimitri Pelo, 25, both of Malibu Village, Perpignan, pleaded guilty to affray.

Adam Lynch, 22, and Andrew Lynch, 29, both of Langley Road, Bramley, also admitted affray.

Brothers Samuel Todd, 19, of Moorside Street, Bramley, and Jamie Todd, 29, of Leeds and Bradford Road, Bramley, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour.

The case was adjourned for reports and all six men will be sentenced next month.

Judge Sally Cahill told the men: "Street violence, as this was, is something that this court takes very seriously.

"One option the court will be looking at is prison.

"You must bear that in mind when getting involved in this kind of conduct.""

Three other men, aged 26, 25, and 22, who were also Catalans Dragons players, who were arrested at the time of the disturbance have been released from their bail.
