Not sure I believe that.

Tigers got $5m from the Federal government

Manly got $12.5m from the Federal government

So other teams have gotten money so I don't see Scomo being in charge an issue. Bigger issue is prioritisation of funds especially with Covid etc. So might need to wait a bit before we go cap in hand.

Could be some elements of the media happy to ignore that to sling **** though, and the media can push their story further into the public often better than the truth can go

I don’t see no issue either, but what are the average punters who don’t care about footy or the Sharks going to instantly think? That it’s money in mates pockets.. or what ever they want to call it. Especially when our stadium is privately owned and not local government like the others I believe

Remember the media/public outcry when he went on his planned family holiday to Hawaii. I could easily see the opposition and others use it as a smear campaign to try ruin him. Something his team have probably thought hard about, if there’s truth to it.

Yep I agree with you, reckon it's unlikely to happen.

Not a huge fan but I thought that was all a bit of a stitch up.
Planned holiday, left when fires were starting to get bad but not full blown disaster. I don't think a key part of the PM role is in-depth knowledge of fire fighting, I'd hope there were a lot more knowledgeable and qualified people around still to actually help and not just be present as a figurehead.
Then he comes back and tries to tour around and shake peoples hands and they blow him up again for not really caring etc and I think it was probably lose-lose anyway, even if he rushed back and gets straight on the ground they probably still go at him for posturing and just trying to make himself look good.

Yeah not really a fan of any side of politics, but agree all of that was just a lose lose situation for him. I think majority of all that is state government level decisions too regarding fire departments/fire fighting

He's copping **** now for coming to Sydney for father's day weekend. Fair enough too, if you ask me.

I can't stand seeing him posing in Sharks gear, especially after listening to the Sharkcast pod with Damo Irvine.

I haven't heard about that, but that's probably a bit more fair to give him a hard time over

If they've done 5 and 12.5 before I could see 5 being possible for us. They just need to make sure every press release relating to it they can influence expresses other clubs have got more or same and probably some other clubs in different sports also.
If he really wanted he could probably push through quite a bit right now and just cop the negativity knowing he is already super unpopular and also that he will do something else the media hates on within a week or two and it will be forgotten.

The perfect place to build it would be 100 metres up the road on the old Toyota site.
Which is for sale.
But they can’t afford to do an upgrade at the stadium so no chance they can afford
a centre of excellence.

How did Manly get 12.5m? Don't they train out of NSW Institute of Sport?
