Peoples I've sort of (Not quite though) got used to the disappointments, as part and Parcel of supporting the Black White and Blue over the years.

A non nrl mate texted me the above statement yesterday.

It got me thinking,-over this year with all the promise shown, great passages of play, good players we have,"Team" we have, and in this position two games out, with as good a side as we can muster all year, everything is to play for and there should be no excuses. The next two games are massive! We've made less tackles than any team in the League. Will the weight of expectations cause a stumble? Why can we/we not go all the way!!

We also have conceded the least amount of penalties while we have been given the most.
Good bit of discipline. Used to think the Sharkies were hopeless for giving away cheap penalties.
Good to see we have come along way!

Agree and well said,

Unfortunately we always crack under pressure, I don’t see the sharks Winning 4 games in a row in the semi finals.
Some promising news though is that we have taken a giant step forward (finally!!!) after 11ish years of rebuilding…
not this year and I say this because I have been supporting the sharkies since I was around 5 years old, 39 odd years ago and I… We know what to expect.

.

Sorry mate - I disagree - we have been pathetic the back end of this season - we should have been sitting comfortably in the top 4 perhaps even minor premiers had we played well throughout the back half . We lost so many agmes a top team would/should have won.

I urge cauton after the Souths game - Good win yes but Souths are faltering ,Inglis first game back - Luke has now been dropped they are off their game .

I'm stoked we are in the semis but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves

It's time when it happens, until then I have no realistic expectation although I do have an emotional one.

The sharks winning the big prize is more than just good players playing good footy, there is a huge mental and cultural battle for them to get over in a finals series.

Nothing less than 100% commitment and belief from the club will get us there and even then we will probably need a bit of luck.

Point taken, just trying to stay as positive as possible in bad situation :b

Yeah agree South’s game means Jack we should be in the top 4, we dropped games we should have won.

I hope people don’t turn on Flanno at the end of the year though.... I think he has done a great Job

Interesting thoughts,i'm not comfortable with it happens when it happens but-we have all waited to long.Just thought it was interesting my avid sporting punter mate, could just put it so succinctly when we continue to have failed expectations and perhaps we as fans are now too conditioned to this.

i just realised something and correct me if i'm wrong.

Sharks sit in 6th on 29 points.
Behind us are Broncs, Raiders and Tigers on 26 points. None of these teams play each other in the final two rounds.
If all three of those teams win both their games and we lose both ours, we're ****in out.

Highly unlikely, but hey, we're the Sharks. This is a distinct possibility.

Yes that is correct. I don't know why people have been saying that we've already made it. It's unlikely we'll miss out, but it is still a possibility.

I don't know who the broncos are playing but I think they'll win both of their remaining games. You can tell they're close to hitting form and if they do I hope we don't have to verse them in week 1 of the finals.

I can't see either of canberra or the tigers going into the finals with too much form.

Each of those sides have a tough game in their remaining games. Be it Manly, bulldogs or Melb

I'm very happy with getting to the finals this year, whatever happens from then on is a bonus for me. Next year is when I'm expecting us to really step up.

Reminds me of 2008 when everyone was saying "man we are so good this year, and we're getting Barrett next year and Tupou, we'll be even better".

2012 is the best shot we've had in a long while and I hope we make the most of it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping we go all the way, I'm just expecting more next year.

To be fair there were a few other things going on back then.

Yeah but that's the thing, have to expect the unexpected sometimes and make the most of each opportunity.

If someone told me in 2008 we'd almost get the spoon the next year I wouldn't believe them.

Looking back I don't know why I was so confident but whatever.

True. I'd like to think we have better people running the club now though. But you're right, you never know what's around the corner.

I hope we get the Broncos at home in week 1 of the finals. We always seem to get them when we play finals, and normally we get them. I reckon we'll do a hell of a lot better against them then against the Tigers or Cowboys or even the Raiders.
