Gus understands and and clearly loves the game more than just about anyone in rugby league. I also don't agree with everything he says, but if he was running the game I could at least respect his decisions because they would be made from a desire to ensure the future of the sport. As opposed to the reactive media slaves we have in charge currently.

Yeah 100%. Like you I don't always agree with him but I agree more often than not.

Talks more sense than anyone else in the game, just about the only person I take any notice of.

He's softened his views on the Sharks of late, used to be always against us in everything. Maybe working with Gal (which really should have made him more against us), and with his son working in development at the club, may have changed him a bit.

AFAIK, he lives in the area so I think he has a soft spot for us.

How's everyone's memory? I wonder if defence could have brought up Richard Villasanti's headbutt on Freddy in 2002 GF. Can't remember if he ever got charged. Probably different rules then.

If it didn't get charged you can't bring it up which is hilarious in this instance. You could show hundreds even thousands of headclashes that haven't been charged to show there is a precedent of them not being charged but because they've never been charged before there are no usable examples of them being charged and let off.

Now there is one precedent, a charge which was upheld (because of lack of precedent to overrule...)

MRC making new shite rules up as they go to fit the media hype or to allow for their own agenda.

So over reading comments from people stating that "It was high contact, should have been sent" or similar saying it was reckless, dangerous and deserved a suspension.

It was an out of the line, body-to-body hard shot. The "high" contact these numpties are going on about was from their heads hitting, and if that is how they see it then every tackle is a suspension. Far out.
