Sharks Forever's ratings for Cronulla vs Souths (NRL Premiership, Round 4, 2006)

CRONULLA:
1. David Simmons - 5
Dropped a sitter over the tryline, though it did come off good hole running. Did not look strong enough in attack.
2. Darren Albert - 5
Didn't do much, his kick returns did not seem to threaten at all. Defence was good.
3. Beau Scott - 7
Bounced back with a very strong game in attack. A number of line breaks and a determined try. Bombed one try when he did not use his support. Still looked somewhat suspect in defence.
4. Phil Bailey - 6
Very solid performance.
5. Luke Covell - 5
Did not get many chances.
6. Adam Dykes - 6
Did some great things, and went close so many times. But again, didn't really convert. Some 'miracle ball' errors.
7. Brett Kimmorley - 6
Great kick-chases and effort. Did not need to do too much in attack, but led the team well.
8. Ben Ross - 6
Very brave to play after his cheekbone/nose fracture last week, and with the constant Bunnies' high shots, but did not have a huge impact.
9. Kevin Kingston - 5
Things didn't really come off for him today.
10. Hutch Maiava - 7
Smashed the Rabbitohs with his hit-ups.
11. Reece Williams - 6
Good game, especially his tackling.
12. Lance Thompson - 7
Scored his first try for the Sharks just before the half-time buzzer, and in doing so nearly sealed the game for Cronulla. A nice change from our usual pre-half time collapse.
13. Greg Bird - 5
Made too many mistakes.
14. Cameron Ciraldo - 6
Played well, looking more like last year's standard. Absolutely smashed Polglase near the scoreboard! More of that!
15. Luke Douglas - 8
Scored a very good try with a strong run, beating a number of tackles, and had another try disallowed by Hayne and Ward (as usual...) Best thing to come out of the game!
16. Matt Hilder - 6
Good comeback, was not on for long, but should soon be back in the run-on side.
17. Tevita Latu - 7
Really changed the game with his speed and energy. Another one to score through sheer determination. Definitely enjoyed the extra game time.

Obviously injured but still think he needs to improve many parts of his game

Quiet again, needs to get more involved. would like to see him hanging around the forwards looking for offloads

Strong running game, but butchered a try by not passing to his support

Solid, but i think he is better served in the forwards

Might create some opportunities but ruins just as many through stupid decisions

Had a quiet one, maybe his slow start will encourage others to show some leadership on the field. here's hoping

A few goood, smart dummy half runs but can get better

Workhorse in defence as usual and seemed to be more involved in attack...might be a few weeks before we see his best though

i just don't think he is playing well. Shows little in attack and doesn't worry the opposition defence in the slightest

Is setting himself up for a big year...getting better with each game

Quiet...perhaps needs a bit more match fitness. Hopefully will improve as we need more input from the bench

Good to see him get more game time, played reasonably well... but as a team i thought we were pathetic...i'll take the 2 points though

i think covell is the best player!! even though he makes his mistakes and sometimes has a really bad game he still is number one on my list. he should be in the game a bit more though. PS. i think he is HOT!! (vanessa)
