imasharkie's ratings for Cronulla vs Newcastle (NRL Premiership, Round 19, 2008)

CRONULLA:
1. Brett Kearney - 5
I hope he can find his earlier form very soon as we need him urgently in attack.
2. Misi Taulapapa - 4
Misi is hanging onto his spot by his fingernails and if he has a third shocker in a row this week...tata
3. Ben Pomeroy - 6
Still our best attacker in the backline and his defence was a lot better this week. Just wish he'd remember he's got Covell on his outside and could learn to pass to him instead of hogging the ball and cutting back inside.
4. David Simmons - 6
much better attacking game this week, he actually ran the ball strongly a couple of times and if he hadn't scored that try by hogging the ball he would've copped my wrath for not passing to an unmarked Misi on his outside.
5. Luke Covell - 7
if he could get the ball from Pomm he'd have a lot more tries to his credit. In great form with his goalkicking but his general play is still way down on past seasons.
6. Brett Seymour - 7
A much better attacking game this week and did well to milk two penalties. His defence is very strong and made several great tackles. Wicks targetted him regularily.
7. Brett Kimmorley - 5
Had an ordinary game and went back to his old days with his wanting the ball all the time and he hogged the kicking game when Buster is a much better kicker than him. Geez I hope he doesn't revert back to his old ways again.
8. Ben Ross - 5
I can't see where everyone gets off on this bloke. He does about 4 strong runs in attack and the rest of the time his runs are soooo soft. I'm not a fan of his as he doesn't warrant 400k a year. Prefer to have Tohi Leha in the side.
9. Isaac De Gois - 6
An up and down game for Isaac. He did cop a few heavy tackles in attack and defence and must have been the reason for his off day.
10. Luke Douglas - 8
He's back to his best. RS gives him a little breather during the 2nd half and playing him at prop is doing wonders for his games. He seems to have built up a bit too.
11. Grant Millington - 6
Love his defensive attitude and gives plenty when he's on the field. RS must be sticking to his policy of giving the newbies short stints on the field as he has done with Snowden.
12. Fraser Anderson - 8
His defensive game is on fire. He's in at least 3 tackles every set from one side of the field to the other. Sure to make one of the World Cup teams.
13. Paul Gallen - 9
Just can't be stopped. The ref tried to penalise him out of the game but that didn't work so Archer gave up and Galls bashed and barged his way all over the park. Tremendous game and desreved his MOM. Copped a late hit, ala Riley Brown, on the last tackle of the game from Zeb Taia. Hope Gall remembers that next time we play them.
14. Danny Nutley - 5
I've given up all hope on Nuts. He drops the ball, he gets in the way on our attacking raids. Hopefully Norrie comes back into the side in Nutts place.
15. Kade Snowden - 6
He didn't get as much time on the field this week but as usual when he was on he smashed them. He looks bigger.
16. Adam Peek - 7
Peeky is a plodder but he plods very well. I hope we keep him for another year, he's the prop every club needs.
17. Terence Seu Seu - 4
did nothing. I would prefer Green.

NEWCASTLE:
1. Kurt Gidley - 8
very dangerous player and we did well to contain him.
2. James McManus - 6
3. Junior Sau - 6
5. Cooper Vuna - 5
20. Akuila Uate - 5
6. Chris Bailey - 4
he's a grub
7. Jarrod Mullen - 6
8. Dan Tolar - 5
14. Chris Houston - 6
10. Matthew White - 5
11. Cameron Ciraldo - 5
12. Cory Paterson - 6
13. Zeb Taia - 2
and he's the grub that tried the Riley Brown tackle on Gall and almost caused an all in brawl on the last tackle of the game.
9. Scott Dureau - 7
16. Richard Faaoso - 4
17. Danny Wicks - 4
