Cronulla trounced by Parramatta, Major Preliminary Semi-Final, 1979

After being runners-up in 1978, winning the 1979 Amco Cup, and finishing third in the minor premiership, the finals series ended up as a disappointment for Cronulla, losing in successive weeks.

Though as much-hated Manly prop Peter Peters pointed out, the number of injuries Sharks players carried into the finals was a major factor, as has often been the case for Cronulla.
