Hearing today that we’re in a serious fnancial hole commitment-wise to almost the tune of around $150M

Prospective board members will need to have some well financed friends or a pretty big overdraft and an open chequebook.

If we don’t upgrade the stadium, the NRL will move us. Apparently no Government funding or intention to do that.

Owners on the residental side getting more and more pissed off about the promised development of the retail and commercial side.

Absolute mess - without board members bringing big game $$$-wise, things ain’t looking too pretty

Sorry... don’t shoot the messenger.

Hey Fitz. Do you mean the NRL would move our home games to a city stadium or full relocation?

Moore Park or Homebush with expected ‘home’ games played elsewhere.

Perhaps the occasional retro round played at Shark Park ... if it still exists.

Sorry to keep asking questions Fitz but is the 150 mill in commitments to do with the expected stadium upgrades or other things separate?

We were always going to be moved to a stadium at some stage, just like all Sydney clubs.

Sucks.

heard there has been some serious staff losses also in the last few months. As for the remaining commercial development.....I doubt they can get funding. (no different from a plethora of other developers who have suddenly seen the borrowing tap turn off. $150m number doesnt make any sense though

That's infuriating - what support/structures will the NRL put in place to justify us dumping huge money into a stadium upgrade... are they gunna work out how to bring more fans through the gates, sort out scheduling, off field drama's, bodgy officiating? lemme guess that will be our responsibility

but hey at least the 11k odd that rock up will have some slightly nicer seats to park their asses on

I would hope the $$$ includes an upgrade of parking/transport facilities - that's something the fans actually want

Mate with the amount of money the Government is wasting on the big stadiums there is absolutely no chance suburban grounds survive now, zero. Only a matter of time until all Sydney clubs are playing out of three grounds.

Unfortunately everyone is getting what they want except the people that really matter.

It is infuriating though, you got that right.

I get that there sounds like theres a problem with the development side of things - but why the sudden panic with our stadium?

No government funding for suburban grounds is hardly breaking news.

If the NRL are planning to move all the Sydney teams to the 3 new stadiums we're not going to be the only team not happy about it.

I'd imagine that part of the value of the development relies on Shark Park being our home ground.

You can easily see the day that if the club has financial problems and issues with the developer the only 'out' will be to sell the stadium's land itself (that's the only asset left) which the developer then builds more units on. I can see it happening sadly and god help the club if it does, can't see Allianz working.
