Whichever way you look at it, the problem would seem to lie with our board.

Either they are totally inept at picking a good CEO, or if they do, are incapable of working with him. One can only speculate that any CEO who dares to show initiative, and takes steps to do things that should have been done long ago, will soon attract the attention, and more likely the ire, of the board.

I have been out of the Shire for a long time so I have not had the opportunity to acquaint myself with the various board members. For that reason I haven't formed any opinions of individuals. However, as a group they seem to have a problem working with the CEO's they have chosen, whose CV's they have, hopefully, carefully scrutinised, and whose backgrounds they have thoroughly checked.

Is this a paid gig? Are there Director's Fees involved? Lurks and perks? I don't know, just asking.

Surely, among our 15K members, we can find half a dozen well credentialed people, without self interest, to keep our club heading in the right direction.

Pretty hard also for the CEO to do his job if there is a division in the board.
The board need to have the clubs best interest at heart - we will never get the club stable if the board can't work together and with the CEO

If we’re planning on returning to the 09/10 days of no CEO, then I’ll be worried.

If put someone in place before the start of the season, then I think we will be fine.

Surely with Flanno getting booted and the salary cap sanctions hanging over our head, we were in a worse position this time last year.

BTW, I’m not bagging anyone’s else’s opinion on this.

I’m just saying get a replacement in ASAP.

Jeez , we've got nothing .
That Mark Fennessy Roosters , ex head of Sport Channel 9. No wonder they were always in the free all the time

Hang on there egg, we have Laura, whose
proudest achievements are her two children who both attend local primary schools
That is a huge help in guiding a multi million dollar business, and being on a board that seems to be populated with egos and agendas.

Haha I laughed at that as well. Nothing wrong with being proud of that but you don't whack it on your board profile.

Maybe getting a school to take them on was actually quite an accomplishment.

Been having a look back through some of our previous Annual Reports.

I reckon the Sharks must hold some records for the most directors through the revolving door in a fiscal year.

Have a look at this excerpt from the 2013 return.

The following persons were Directors of the company during the whole of the financial year and up to the date of this report, unless otherwise stated:

Damain Keogh- Chairman- (Appointed 22 April 2013)
Darren McConnell (Appointed 22 April 2013)
Dino Mezzatesta (Appointed 22 April 2013)
Andrew Boldeman (Appointed 22 April 2013)

Craig Airey (Appointed 22 April 2013)
Kevin Dwyer (Appointed 22 April 2013)
Dane Sorensen (Appointed 22 April 2013)
Paul O’Neile (Appointed 15 May 2013)
Paul McCarthy (Appointed 17 June 2013)
Glenn Coleman (Appointed 11 February 2013, Resigned 16 May 2013)
Keith Ward (Resigned 22 April 2013)
Craig Douglas (Resigned 22 April 2013)
Jonathan Docking (Resigned 22 April 2013)
Peter Kerr (Resigned 22 April 2013)
Phillip Tiernan (Resigned 22 April 2013)
Greg Holland (Appointed 19 March 2013, Resigned 22 April 2013)

Paul Walker (Resigned 19 March 2013)

Damian Irvine (Resigned 13 March 2013)
Paul Burns (Appointed 26 February 2013, Resigned 8 March 2013)
James Barnett (Resigned 26 February 2013

That's about twenty if I counted correctly. Scary huh?

Some people have actually resigned, and then apparently been caught in the revolving door, been spat back into the boardroom, and back onto the. board. :inyouget

A least we have a woman! A win for diversity!
Not sure why she is the only one who has a proudest achievement or needs her experience and expertise explained though...
She also has no special responsibilities

Proudest achievements: Laura’s cites proudest achievements are her two children Jackson and Charlotte, who both attend local primary schools

LOL well done, Laura, what an achievement! Spitting out 2 kids whove made it to primary school.

Whoever typed it had a bit going on too "Laura’s cites proudest achievements are".

We're a professional organisation mate, no doubt about it.
