This Scott Cambell blokes seems to have gotten around to work at a **** tonne of clubs over his career

Dunno why penrith arn't retaining his services. is he too hard core, not deemed essential to the bubble???

penrith they are the best defensive team in the comp. you don't achieve that without a high level of strength and conditioning

It might not be they're not retaining him but he's leaving. Maybe getting a promotion, more cash, wants to work with Fitz or as Tank mentioned he could be pissed he was left out of the bubble.

Either way seems like our gain. Curious to know his role, doesn't seem like the head of role and maybe placing Grimaldi but who knows ?

When does this guy start work?
I’m guessing officially 01/11, but am hoping he already has his feet under the coaches desk at Shark Park.

Would have started some prep pretty much as soon as he got the job.
Is he spending 5 days a week sat behind a desk at Shark Park at the moment? Doubt it, and not concerned if he isn't

The first of November is when a players contract begins and a club starts paying them. I've seen nothing to suggest this carries over to coaches.

It might but I doubt any decent coach would wait that long to get started on things.

First session is just laps while he meets the other staff for the first time and they start brain storming how the preseason should look

Would say he's working on signings now. And with the spots up for grabs I wouldn't be too worried if he's not personally wrestling anyone just yet

You do all know that “Feet under the desk” is just a figure of speech right?
I don’t expect he is literally sitting at a desk at Shark Park but more that he is now fully 100% focused/ committed to the Sharks now.

You do know you also specifically asked "When does this guy start work?" though right?

Kind of skews how to read your figure of speech when you open with that. Suggests the level of focus and commitment you are asking about involves actively starting working, possibly at his desk you mention.

If you just want to know if people think he is 100% committed to Sharks right now and you aren't fussed if he is actively working for us or not my answer is I am sure he is doing something for us but likely only recently leaving bubble wouldn't surprise me if family/home life was also a greater than normal focus for him right now too. He is probably still doing some Sharks stuff with a lot of preseason already organised.

I heard he's on the beers & bags for a couple wks in QLD & he'll roll in early November. Needs to let his hair down after all that secretly making team selections/coaching calls for us (only good ones, if it was **** that was Hannay) & relentlessly chatting up players in Origin camp & later the QLD NRL bubble to play for us all while masterminding all the good stuff the Chooks do.
