I hate duel citizenship, you're either Aussie or **** off to your other country. Same with football, so is he going to relinquish his life membership with Roosters and become a loyal Sharks member?

Are you really an Aussie if you’re not aboriginal ? I have plenty of mates that have a dual citizenship with the country their parents/grandparents originated from.. no big deal

Nrl.com - both noddy and lewy are keen on him, also fitter. I’m excited.
Don’t like how jmo has exited the building the idea of having a gap year this season is annoying..

Sorry to upset a few of you.

Wiz, don't take Aussie out of context, I said citizenship and could not care were someone is born. I wasn't born here fyi. I cannot see the purpose of dual citizenship. More importantly should both get into war with each other who is my allegiance to? It's about patriotism. You can only be patriotic to one.

I treat football the same way, it's about patriotism although I won't fight for my team as I would for my country of citizenship, I will however support my team through the bad and good times and have no dual citizenship so to say of having a second team as insurance. I am no football team swinger. It's Sharks forever (what a great name for a website) for me. Patriotism is pride, the pride for my country, the pride for my team.

Taking someone with a life membership elsewhere is like the allies taking on one of Hitlers generals without swearing allegiance.

Personally, I believe staff, players and supporters should only have 1 membership. But that's me.

Let's say, if I owned a team and found out a player was a member of another club, they wouldn't be in my team. If Fitz is fair dinkum then swear allegiance and relinquish life membership at Roosters.

I played for a few different clubs growing up. First club I was at for 8 years and would never have dreamt about playing in other colours. The club folded, I went elsewhere. Once you are in that team environment, bleeding with your mates - you get loyal quick.

Let him have his life membership at roosters. He's earned it.

@Sharkmate

What about the players thou.
Players don’t often get to play for the teams they barracked for/ supported growing up.
Isn’t that the same thing?
What makes coach’s any different?

This would have been in the works for months, not days

end of this year, same manager as bomber, one client got sacked, the other got upgraded

It's all experience for Hannay too. He's young, and will want to build his coaching resume and his reputation. At this stage even if the team bumbles in to 10th or 11th, he'll still do both of those things by just being professional, not bagging Bomber, and doing everything he can to work with the incoming guys.
