Yep. 7 days, but from the day of first positive result.
My wife tested positive Monday so it’s starts from then.
My son only tested today but the 7 days doesn’t restart! Go figure!
Great way to spend my annual leave after being “forced” to take some!

In NSW - From 6pm Friday 22 April - Close contacts no longer have to isolate as long as they have no symptoms and:

1. Don't visit aged care, hospitals etc
2. Where masks indoors when outside the home
3. Daily RAT tests
4. Work from home where possible

These are the main conditions .

I think I saw you are most contagious in two days leading up to symptoms and first day or two of symptoms so kind of does make sense someone who tests positive midway through an existing iso doesn't cause an extension.

Probably just too complicated to be like 'if someone tests positive for the first time after day X of Isolation and extend quarantine by a further Y days, if someone tests positive for first time after day A of quarantine and others in the house have yet to show symptoms/test positive extend quarantine by further B days' and every niche possibility.

That's the thing aye, there is definitely an argument for hoping you get it now and just get it out of the way rather than have it crop up at a potentially less convenient time.

I'm pretty happy to have it out of the way... although not happy it is still impacting me. 18 days after first symptoms I went to gym (Monday) and had to leave after 20 mins. Went medium intensity and it was pretty cruisy for a bit then suddenly I got super light headed and nauseous... felt short of breath but wasn't breathing heavily too.

I'll wind it even further back and try again in a couple days.

I don’t go to the gym but have been doing about 12kms at bold park twice a week.
So I’d be dreading the aftermath if/when I do get it!

Yeah it’s hit and miss- many families have 1 or 2 that avoided it somehow - others - everyone I by 1 have got it ..just hope it’s mild for you guys ..

So far, bad cold symptoms but nothing worse than that, so if that’s as bad as it get for us, then that’s a good thing. I know of much worse cases.
Trying to have boundaries with the 2 infected.
Different bathrooms, Keeping to bedrooms and masks if they need to use common areas, opened windows for fresh air ventilation etc.
Time will tell if it worked or not.

Family is all fully vaxed (including boosters).
Wife works in healthcare sooooo…..

But being vaxed doesn’t stop you from catching it.
It is only meant to reduce the severity.

It was an 18th b’day party and the kids old man sent a message next day saying they tested positive!

But What pissed me off the most was more so the next message that he sent afterwards….

“Knew something was off as I felt like I had it last time”.

The kids old man had it before so knew the symptoms and what it felt like to have COVID but still went ahead!

So far 17 (that I know of) have tested positive now but there are many there I don’t know so don’t know the full extent!

That SUX , I suppose the main thing is that all you family comes out the other side feeling 100%.
