Thanks guys. Sorry to put you guys down I should realise you all mean no harm. Just hasn’t been an easy week.

And tonight I’ve just heard that a fellow I’ve done theatre with has just passed away from heart and kidney complications due to Covid.

Life is just not fair sometimes.

Apologies Chad, we meant no malice.

Good to hear the family is recovering.

Have you considered you might just have an natural immunity?
I’m not sure but I hope to hell I do.

I’m not the healthiest around myself so if I did get it I do worry about what it would do to me.

Thanks mate.

Thanks egg. Normally I’m not that fragile but when it’s the two closest people in your life and the young fellow’s not vaccinated, your sense of humour takes a trip south.

Wonder how many of our boys would have caught covid over the break
I seen Titans have 22 players, Cowboys have 10 and Broncos have 16, that’s a fair chunk in each squad.

The data on covid changes every day, but I think you get pretty good natural immunity for 6 or so months after you have caught it. The more that just catch it now might be better for the seasons chances of not stopping

Till it’s finals footy time and u want your best squad. Best to cop a few loses early season with half a squad down then miss 1 player post season with a 2nd bout of it.

Do these fuckers take any notice at all of what happens overseas?

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has acknowledged the Omicron strain of the coronavirus has spread more quickly than he and his officials first expected but he has denied taking a “let it rip” approach to surging case numbers.

I like your thinking. One big BBQ could save the season

What is happening in Qld right now has a definite "Chicken Pox Party" feel about it.

I understand COVID hits everyone different but I’ve got it & honestly wouldn’t have taken a day off work in an alternative world. Barely touched me at all.

Yea I don't know what they are playing at. Getting the economy back on track shouldn't mean you just make up your own arbitrary rules and bs the public along the way while dragging the chain on decisions and passing the buck at every chance.

We had warning around a month in advance from experts that the Omicron strain was expected to be far more contagious and quicker spreading than Delta - we weren't ready for it again

Changed the close contract definition despite warning from WHO that this was inappropriate (I spent 4 hours with a mate that was actually positive but apparently that was now considered a 'casual contact' fkn lol wtf. Good thing I didn't catch it from him.

Apparently had a chance to secure larger volume of RAT tests before Omicron got out of control and PCR venues couldn't handle the influx of people - don't have a source for this to confirm but wouldn't surprise me and there are reports from Doctors claiming we were too slow getting them into chemists and the publics hands despite them issuing warnings to the government

I saw something which said some studies are looking like around 20% of people actually highly contagious and do approx 80% of the spreading. Most people aren't crazy contagious. Explains why numbers are booming even though a lot of people have stories like yours

Me and another mate who were with our positive friend that night tested ourselves once we found out. I was already staying at his place helping him work on his house at this point anyway so would have likely passed to one another.

We had no symptoms but didn't want to be out and about if we were positive and contagious. Our positive friend wanted to come over to see us so we made a deal, if we test positive he can come over if not stay away.

We both tested negative on the RAT although it says it's more accurate if you have symptoms didn't want to take the chance and I had already secured a bunch of tests from my local chemist (price gauged)

We had been out on the town alot in many venues which we later got text msgs warning us a positive case was there during our visit. Pretty sure we were in an Uber with a sick anti-vaxer driver too. Even went to the Casino a few times.

I wash my hands constantly and wear a mask where required and have 2 Phizer Jabs thus far. My other mate has had the 3 jabs and was actually worried having them earlier in the year it may have started to wear off but we both have still not shown symptoms and as far as we know continue to be negative.

Maybe the virus wanted no part of our daily hangovers

They reckon 1 in 2 people are going to contract it at some point. Population of Sydney is 5.4 Million people and thus far about 630k have reported case of covid in NSW so as it stands unless I am misintepreting the stats the vast majority of people in Sydney haven't caught it (or alterntivaely not presented symptoms or a positive test) - hopefully it stays that way

I know alot of people who have been positive now from individuals to entire families
