I think so too. I reckon he had parallax error with the ball trajectory and Val’s. I don’t think he was trying to play the man.
Would like to agree with you but unfortunately when he put his arm around Val's waist after first trying to reach for the ball he was playing the man .
Bunker video shown by Annesley on Monday was pretty clear & only decision the bunker had to make was penalty try - Yes or No.

It was because of the ball's initially trajectory across the ground ( until it hit Tracey on head ) that answer was No.

I agree he played the man. I just don’t think he intended to.

Really hope this is the last time we see this guy in first grade...no doubt his commitment but can't read a game, forever racing out of the line and never looks to pass. Time to blood some youth in centres nxt year, probably Iro but not this guy...

We need to decide on his best position and only play him in it.

Whether it's wing or centre, he needs to learn one posi. Hopefully for the Jets.

He doesn't have a best position and he isn't a quality utility that can competently play across the park. Too small for forwards roles and his pace rarely gets to be taken advantage of in the outside backs and he ain't going to be competing for many high balls cause he short.

He doesn't have the ball playing ability to make a go of it in the halves and there is no way you would want him defending in at hooker. Fullback, forget it.

Finally made a line break tonight but then lost the ball from the Souths tackler coming behind him (Walker?)

I liked Tracey for the most part during regular season but he got found out and wasn't up to it in the finals - had a poor 2 games that hurt us.

Nearly everything he did bar hit ups turned to ****. His defense (decision making and positioning) was the biggest problem and some errors with the ball just compounded the issues

We didn't have many other options with FG experience with Ika injured but even Hiroti who was on reserves IIRC would have done better.

Katoa plays we prob win that game against Cows and have a tighter contest with Souths last night but that's how it goes. Yea Tracey got shifted to centre cause of Talakai injury but whateves same ol story as last week. Didn't help playing inside the inexperienced Miller. I would say he should have been paired with Ronnie who could have stayed on his usual left wing but the Jesse/Ronnie combo over on the right did good things

Tracey has gone down in my eyes, I will be annoyed if coach Fitz isn't reconsidering his pecking order regardless of how big an off season he puts in

No we don’t .. we shouldn’t have to make it work for him, he’s getting paid to make it work for us.

He’s a bench player. At best

I’ve never understood why people say he is a bench player.

yes, He gives 150%+ but has never had the ball playing skills or X factor.
At best he is cover for centre or wing (not hooker or halves) when injuries strike but not a game changer.

I like the guy I really do.
I also love his 1000 miles per hour returns, attitude and determination, but he won’t win us games so we need to make him a Jet next year.

And Katoa. And Ikuvalu.
(And Val, and Luetele, and Bird...)
Of course Katoa but I did not want to say it since he was out for the season a while ago.

However, Talakai and hunt were verylate withdrawals. Maybe we can add Ikuvalue to that list too. Would certainly do better than Miller on the wing.
