Because Talakai is a freak though. Not because our halves are creating the opportunities. Seems if Talakai has a 'quiet' game (just 150 metres and a TA) we don't offer much in attack
That’s what I mean though - with good centres our wingers have good games, sometimes our halves literally just pass the ball to Ramien and Talakai because they have no idea what else to do and it leads to a try.. if we didn’t have those two at centre we would be FKD !

Yeah, agree with that. I was talking about our halves actually creating some opportunities moreso. Can't wait for Ramien to return

The thing our halves lack is game management. They need to know how to control the tempo better, get some repeat sets and when to get the forwards to straighten up.

People asking which other team would have him - is he a notably worse centre than Momorovski?

Could make an argument for him to make most of the sides in the bottom 8.
Before anyone says do we want a guy who makes the bottom 8 sides well if we had all guys who could beat out most players in top 8 sides we’d want to be doing a lot better on ladder

I think Talakai and Ramien are obviously better 'strike' centres, but there is not a player in the league that punches above his weight more than Connor. If our whole side put in like him we'd be a chance to win the comp.

I'd like to see us find a better balance with Talakai. We are losing the middle regularly, so we could benefit from his go forward there. But just because he is there doesn't mean we can't set plays to put him out wide to isolate defenders. Also would let us play Connor there in defence to avoid Talakai being beaten on the outside.

Picking Connor also sends a message to the squad that hard work and effort gets rewarded. I think that's something that a few in our side could definitely do with remembering.

if there was an actual position for him

no one doubts his effort and he goes reasonably ok on the wing, runs fast and straight at centre but he isn't superior to any other player really and for all the speed and agilty rarely if ever breaks the line or finds open space

through the spine and backs we already have more established players that do it better than him.

he's even inferior to trindall in the spine / 13 otherwise I would have no drama him having the bench spot

I thought he was one of our best if not our best against the titans.

if that were the case he is no where near Talakai or Jesse. I would prob have Ikavalu over him as well at centre.

Agreed Connors biggest asset is strong runs out of our 20 but other than that he doesn't offer as much as those mentioned for mine.
