Fitz is the head coach, he probably wants different to how Flanno/Price had the plan. I thin Fitz probably wants more attack scoring more tries though thats not working atm if thats the case.

When we first signed him I thought his focus would be our defence since that's the role he played at Rooster's and the Blues.

Can understand the focus on attack with the current team though.

The different rule sets is important too, lot easier to grind out wins with no 6 agains.

Just having a scroll through those off contract at the end of 2026. I.e who we could negotiate with at the end of the year if this season fell to **** and change was required. I can't see us making any major moves till 2027 with how the cap sits. It will be a tough market too with the Bears entering the comp.

To me, the standouts are Jayden Campbell and Luke Metcalf. Both of which have the flexibility to play across fullback and the halves. Another option is still Joey Manu if he were to decide to come back.

I just hope someone checks the tag before we sign them so we know if they are genuine or not.

I avoid reading this thread because I knew it would have some humdinger suggestions in it, boy was I not disappointed.

We lose two games and a full rebuild and we drop every single player is suggested.

Panic stations people !
I don't think it's because we've lost 2 in a row, more likely the WAY we have performed in them 2 games, or didn't perform.

Yep, it was grim, but I'm certain you can find declarations we won't make the 8 from someone or another the last couple of seasons too

I've even seen a mention or two of a spoon... I chose to believe it was in jest.

Grim is probably the appropriate word. Yeah I never believe we can't make the 8, I think it's a minimal requirement with our roster, preferably the last 4 and be competitive at least, we have the cattle to do it, but for various reasons we seem to struggle especially when we shouldn't be. From an outside viewer the most obvious issue is attitude. No panic button yet From me.

I know I said if we don't make the eight, in my opinion that's equivalent of getting the spoon.

Before the season started I had making the prelim a pass mark. Right now, we are closer to not making the eight then being good enough for a prelim birth.

Oh you were the one? :ROFLMAO:

I agree. Prelim is the minimum requirement.

It’s not really two games though. We are roughly at 50%.

Having said that it is such a soft comp, that we are only 6pts away from the leaders (2byes vs 1). And in a way, this hurts more.

We've had the squad to make top 4 and top 8 last 4 years, but do we have a squad that can take us all the way. Tweak the squad, its not a clean out or rebuild, just 1 or 2 key signings to add and hopefully take us to the next level

We didn't just lose 2 games, we got absolutely flogged by 2 teams that shouldn't have got near us. The second game after a bye, which makes it more unacceptable....

This is on top of what I would say have been sup-par performances all season, even the ones we won.

The teams that get to the GF won't have had that sort of season.

Thats how we won in 2016, our defence was top notch consistently, came out fast out of the line, stopped easy offloads regularly & didn't give away as many soft penalties as we've done this season so far.
2016 was also a gutsy, tough team that didn't stop fighting. This lot, bar AFB, Iro and Talakai are becoming absolute soft cocks.

Don't agree the Wahs shouldn't have got near us, they're having a good year. Losing to them was ok, the manner in which we lost was not.

This is the season average between Klemmer and Toby, for both 2024 and 2025 so far.

Maloney/Cronk/Thurston/Johns as a specialist halves coach. Even 1 day a week.
