You're 100% correct on us thinking the opposite and you ALWAYS being correct
So , just my thoughts . " I don't think you're a Wanker "
:)
.
I don’t think you are either egg, but as you said our opinions differ quite a bit most of the time.

I do applaud your glass half full approach and while I don’t think I’m a glass empty guy, I do like to be more realistic with my thoughts.

I think we are short of a good centre and to be totally honest we really don’t have a half that is tried and true and can consistently manage a game. Nicho is the closest we have and he’s only played 36 games. Trindall, Metcalf and yes, even Moylan are good players but I wouldn’t have them winning a game for my life.

Will Kennedy had a stellar 2021 and while I would not replace him, he doesn’t get talked about in the same vein as Turbo, Teddy, King Gutho, Papps or Edwards. Those guys with perhaps the exception of Edwards can turn a game and win it. The pressure will be on him to perform still as a few not so good games can see Hynes go back there bringing Trindall into 7.

Fitz is going to have a huge job. It’s going to be an exciting year and I’m really looking forward to seeing us win more games. But we need to temper our expectations until our pre-season is done and we’ve seen how the team will line up and play.

I think we are safe with Kennedy and we will make the top 8 but it might take a while for the team to click into gear.

Good answer Chad .
Well see how Ferris , Tracey , the 7's dude and/or perhaps Ronnie go at left Centre .
Lots of healthy competition there
Nicho played most of his career at 7 , I'm sure he has an adequate kicking game like Tindall
Moylan and Metcalf can both create tries
If Kennedy got injured Nicho probably slots straight back there .
There will also be another signing or too to bolster the team even more
So I'm pretty optimistic about out depth and strengths .
Up Up

Sounds like you don't think fullback is solved for us mate? It was interesting that a lot of commentary basically had the no1 spot down as case closed

Not many fullbacks are turning games 40 games into their careers. There's no pressure on him atm imo.

The way Fitzgibbon's eyes light up when he mentions Kennedy, I think he's already in awe.

Not at all. I like Will and I hope he keeps his spot.

BUT

I have heard some scuttlebutt this morning that Fitz is looking at a Hynes/Metcalf pairing. Metcalf at 7 and Hynes at 6 with Moylan 14.

Might be true but it might also be Fitz trying to keep Metcalf happy to keep him from being snatched by the Warriors.

There was an artilce that listed 6 Hynes 7 Metcalf but I felt like they'd just confused Metcalf and Trindall.

I can't see how, at this point in time before return to training even, Metcalf could be seriously considered the 2nd choice starting half.
Fitz himself says he hasn't even seen anyone train, how could the most rookie bloke already be in the lead for a spot before the coach has really even seen.

Well it's not in the rumour thread so I believe it.

From Metcalf's 10 seconds verse Trindall's 10 hours on the field, I'd be okay with seeing Metcalf get first crack. But I agree with Bort that it'd be a surprising leap of faith for Fitz to run that halves pairing out. Fitz has already given Trindall the 'has a big part to play in the future plans' spiel... But we've heard that before and know it's up to the player performing (cough Flanno jnr)

I'd be pretty concerned if it turned out one of the first things Fitz has done as coach is start declaring someone like Metcalf a likely starter when he probably has never seen the bloke touch a football in person.

If everyone makes it through preseason fit and healthy it'll be a hell of a battle for halves spots.

I agree with you all guys, but I'm just passing on what I heard. :)

The fellow I heard it from said one of his mate's Dad is on the coaching staff.

Gots a feeling that McInnes and Graham are gonna be co-captains
I think it might be Dale and Graham but can’t go wrong with either and feel all 3 don’t need a C next to their name to lead by example. It’s a good leadership group

Some people may not even think it's necessary to play Fifita now just because he's a leader, even though he contributes nothing.
