Well our toughest pre season in ages he was in rehab all of it. So hard to comment on that. Also he didn't join us till January the first year he joined us

So
year 1 he joins in January and misses half of it.
year 2 fair enough he found it easy and by all reports it was. Was Morris first pre season to himself and we fired the Head of Performance following that season
year 3 he was in rehab all of it.
And each of those years we did better than Warriors

Also 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015
2014 they did better
We did better in 2013 and 2012
They did better in his debut season 2011

So those hard pre seasons he used to do with them really did the team a lot of favours vs the easier preseasons he did with us since (obviously he doesn't have comparison to what our preseasons were like earlier but unlikely Bomber came in and made things much easier than Flanno was running them)

The common story is every player says their new teams preseason is tougher than their old team. Funny how your most recent preseason often feels like the hardest one you've done - more recent, you're older, talks up new club etc

The twist is in this case his new team is also his ooold team so he is throwing that shade before he has even started preseason.

I'm sure the guys who weren't in the rehab group found it plenty hard Shaun.

Most teams start hard an then ease off to work on ball play, shapes, techniques so they don't start to fatigue the players before the season has even begun. Maybe if the Worriers trained so hard all preseason there is a reason they would fade towards then end of the season...
Hasn't been very complimentary since he left has he...especially after we were the club that gave him a lifeline after his latest employer diched him earlier

Shaun has always been all about Shaun. Good riddance to him.

Yeah I think he took Bombers sacking as a bit of a slap in the face - he would have (fairly rightly) seen himself as one of if not our most important player and we made a personnel decision he actively didn't like.

And then we made it clear he wasn't getting renewed and he went full off us, which there is precedent for having left NZ a year early having been told they wouldn't be extending him.

Shaken off two of the players who need to be heavily managed (SJ and Dugan). Fifita is another. Moylan has his own issues but at least he seems to have been keeping his head down and obviously staying in the good books of decision makers at the club.

Could be something in that. Brownie comes across as the kind of guy who's sit around the hangi pit with the boys rather than doing overs

So, to be fair, could be completely reasonable to feel that way. Maybe it's just me now assuming he's being a bit narky about it, because he's come across that way a lot over the years

Blayke might take one look when preseason starts and give the game away if that’s what another 3-4 season are going to do to him

That shouldn't be the case next year though, should it?
Yep, they've already committed to playing the first chunk of the season there with hopefully an option to return mid season to NZ.

They committed early just so they can sort out the logistics, prepare families, organize more permanent accommodation etc.

Was the right call doing it so early.

Was talking to a mate of mine just before whose info is always pretty bloody accurate.

McInness had a 4 year offer from the dogs 150k a year more than our offer each year.

Warriors also with a similar deal.

He Sacrificed 600k to sign with us.
