Official Cameron McInnes

Geez that article suggests a quick move on from the MickGennis at Lock, Bit rough.

I agree. There’s a bit of “Cam’s injured, ah well he’s done at Cronulla” about that article, quite disrespectful to a player that is a big part of the club and very likely still has a part to play.

Cam’s still contracted next year and he is very likely to return at some stage next season. Even if Jesse goes well, Cam will still definitely play a part. I still really think people are underestimating what Cam brings to this team.

From SMH - what a tough bugger

Meanwhile, injured Sharks captain Cam McInnes has undergone neck surgery as he recovers from a season-ending ACL rupture. He compressed a nerve in round 11, which left him experiencing regular numbness in both arms, and required regular cortisone injections and painkillers just to take the field.

We should sign him up for 5 years now, and medically retire him as soon as the contract is registered

giving him a nice super payout and us Salary Cap dispensation for the medical retirement

I am kidding of course. I do realise the NRL would only **** us over if we tried some bullshit like that - we are not the Rorters

Can only think the emergence of Jesse is a good thing for Mcinnes, not sure how long he's got left but that sounds shocking.

Fewer minutes and likely a role off the bench (hooker cover if needed/ middle) is good for him as well as us next season.

I don’t think he makes our bench.

The guy isn't built like normal human beings.
I'm concerned for his post retirement life though.

It’s a tricky one but it’s wait and see for me.
Every chance some other injuries see him waltz back in and I think he’ll be hard to drop if he gets on, as he adds a lot of intangibles and busts his arse

I wonder how much we can credit Cam for our current mindset and toughness. There's so much a player brings to a team is hard to say what impact his being out of the side (or in) might have.

The mental side makes such a difference. Ronnie being able to harness his competitiveness. Nicho finding a happy place between personal success and team results. Those sorts of shifts have made all the difference this season

I think Fitz still picks him, from what I’ve seen Fitz really values what he brings and feels like his leadership is valuable, I think he finds room for him even if he doesn’t start.

Just what I think he’ll do.
Other than tackling I just don't see what he adds?

Off the field I have no doubt he adds a lot.

If he was declared fit tomorrow, who would you drop to put him in and why?

18th man maybe?
