We're his 6 those 'rebound and slow down' tackles or actual misses?
I think the stat probably needs a bit of context for a Brailz style hooker
Not sure.
NRL stats doesn’t go into that much depth.
And I can’t be arsed watching to work out if NRL stats are right or wrong

At least a couple of times they were more of a bounce off, especially with Burgess

Sometimes you can also see a lot of missed tackles on the edge forwards where they rush out of line to shut down a spread.
Player with the ball sees them coming and can straighten or turn back, breaking their rushed tackle attempt, but they turn back into the teeth of the defence instead of continuing to spread the ball out.

If anyone has that kind of time on their hands, an analysis of tackle efficiency by position would be really interesting (it might already be there but I I don't look too deeply into these things myself)

I think “missed tackles” needs context for any player. I got laughed out of the Capewell thread once for claiming he was a good defender after he had 11 misses in a game. I re-watched and almost all of them were him being in the line or on kick chase, and the guy sidestepping away from him and being tackled by someone else, or him being first in, and then letting go once a middle was involved. He had one really bad miss in the game and one more that you would call a “missed tackle” in context. 11 on the stat sheet.

He has had to change his game since the SJ days. Now he he is more of a tackling machine.

He has made some good hard runs lately too.

finally putting strong performances together, that's about a month of mostly good strong footy from Nikora and consistency has been a problem of his not ability. Giving us alot more in attack lately

Seems the contract extension and securing his future has had a good effect on him - maybe under the new coach he feared he was on the outer
