I only really care about Sharks in Origin, so I was watching him every play basically:
- His tackles were generally strong and dominant (lawnmower type tackles)
- When he was playing on the right he was involved in some important kick chases over the far side of the field
- He was generally back before most of the other Queensland forwards
He did still miss a cover tackle in one of the tries, and then got caught behind the play-the-ball for the Cleary try. But I don't think either would have happened without the send-off. And I think Slater would be happy with his efforts. I guess we'll see....
