Firman looked like being the next star halfback for the Sharks in 2001, with strong performances in reserve grade despite several shoulder injuries.

However, the signing of Brett Kimmorley at the end of the season basically ended any hopes of the first grade halfback spot and he was forced to move to St George Illawarra.

Firman is one of the most natural half backs I've seen in my short time. Injuries have been the only thin that has stopped this bloke from being the ducks nuts, in my opinion.

He has a short kicking game that probably only Joey could rival, and his long game is nothing to sneeze at. I really liked Firman, but his injuries pretty much killed his career.
