team currently has the best attack in the comp, but people think we need changes in the player making role?

Our bigs need to do their jobs a bit better (regardless of injury they all have a job to do when called up).

I dont mind Trindall, in fact i quite like him, but i highly doubt hes the reason we’d start putting 50 on teams every week.

The games we’ve lost werent due to attack
Game management and helping Hynes in areas against teams where our attack isn’t doing it

Think finals last year and the losses this year

Attack has never ever been the issue , both Moylan and trindall do well in this area it’s the things that Moylan can’t do/doesn’t do well

TBF, Wiz did say “attack has never been the issue, both Moylan and trindall do well in this area” in his post, so no he isn’t saying it was our attacking game.

he is more leading to taking some pressure off Nicho’s kicking game, as Moylan hasn’t been kicking all that much (in general).

He said “games where our attack wasnt doing it….think finals games last year”

So hes either contradicting himself or just being good old Wiz.

In that cowboys semi, the game was lost in every way bar our attack. The lazy defensive efforts all over the park lost that one

Starting this comment before I even look at the stats as I am interested to see what they say
(name, average kicks per game, & I'm ignoring played with less than 5 games)
  1. SJ 19
  2. Cleary 17
  3. Hynes 15
  4. DCE 14
  5. Arey 14
  6. Chad 14
  7. Boyd 13
  8. Moses 13
  9. Hastings 12
  10. Burton 12
  11. SWalker 11
  12. Hunt 11
  13. Fogarty 11
  14. IKat 10
  15. Munster 9
  16. Ilias 9
  17. Keary 8
  18. Hughes 8
  19. Doueihi 8*
  20. Brooks 8

  22. Wighton 7
  23. CWalker 7
  24. Wakeham 6
  25. Drinkwater 4
  26. Sullivan 4*
  27. Mahoney 3
  28. Moylan 3

I was legit worried Moylan wouldn't make the top 34 for a second there haha
*ones we know would be skewed by position changes

So he doesn't kick a lot by any means but as a teams second choice kicker it's not unusual. Plenty of teams have one very dominant kicker.
Other halves Moylan kicks more than Ponga, Dearden, Johns, Luai, Foran, Mam to name the most relevant

Now this is not an argument it is incorrect Hynes would benefit from a support who actively kicked more, but it does demonstrate it is a common set up which can be perfectly effective.
Moylan has kicked 5, 6, 5, 6, 4, 1, 2, 2, 5, 6, 0
Looks like he has been relatively happy to kick as needed since Nicho has settled back
**** this post is getting away from me... just keeps going
Trindall at half averages 12, he wouldn't if paired with Nicho though, something like 5 more likely. But then you could argue Moylan has shown he is quite happy to kick 4/5/6 times if needed. Trindall can kick further but if you aren't placing kick somewhere you can challenge for it or meet with defence the extra distance doesn't help massively - an extra 15m loses some effect when it gives their player an extra 10m to wind up and pick where he wants to run.

We are 8th for average kick meters but 3rd for average run meters so makes sense we wouldn't have to kick as far - we don't need to.
Throw in we are actually 12th for average long kicks per game (9.6) but 6th for average attacking kicks (9.6) the conclusion is Trindall would spend more time kicking balls into legs near the try line than hitting 40/20s because I am sick of looking at kick stats and have chosen to interpret it that way

When attack doesn’t win you the game

Literally couldn’t of made it more clear that attack isn’t the issue

Why? Unless injuries I doubt Nicho gets a heap of game time. Pretty good chance he backs up for us
We play round 16 and round 19 when origin players are out. Unless you think Hynes gets dropped by game 3?

Could see some preference towards Trindall on bench week after origins too, although as you say Hynes may not get the minutes to warrant it

So from the boxed part of your quote, tell me what youre saying. Cos to me that reads our attack wasnt working and it cost us the finals game.

Wiz doesn't really need my help fighting his battles.

But the sentence directly below the one you've circled makes it pretty clear he's not talking about our attack.

I think we have tiges and warriors or something maybe?
I think it's the Dogs and Tigers we play without Origin players

And we back up against the Broncos, Warriors after origin, not sure who the other team is ?

Broncos I think he'll play, but Warriors as the game is over there he might not.

So atleast 2 games he wont play for sure.

Broncos in 14 (after SOO 1), Dogs in 16 (before SOO 2), bye in 17, Tigers in 19 (before SOO 3), Warriors in 20
