Lol it is hard for some people to grasp. Cronk was one of the best half's ever and debuted at I think it was 25...but Trindall will never be good.even though he is fairly good for his age.
Cronk was 21 when he debuted.

I agree with you though, people are too impatient with Tricky.
Cronk debuted at 20, and then played 2 full seasons as a bench/depth player before becoming the starting halfback. During those 2 seasons he had games where he wasn't picked, he had games where he played 5 minutes, and he played pretty much everywhere except fullback and prop.

He also didn't play a rep game at halfback until he was 28. He first played for Qld at 26 but was the bench "utility" for 2 seasons where most times he just came on and played 15-20 minutes at lock.

Scott Prince is another really good example of patience paying off. Was brought in to the NRL very young (18) but was in and out of the team, back and forward to Q Cup (against me :)), played off the bench sometimes, and after 3 years had a nice highlight reel but you couldn't say he was solid NRL player. Even at Brisbane before the injuries his form was mixed.

It wasn't until he got to the Tigers 6 years later (after 90+ games and at 24) that he really became a confident, controlling halfback.

Even Kyle Flano is looking like a much better player these days. Most halves take time. The list of halves who came in young, were immediately good, and immediately had team success... is a very short one.

Backed it up after last week's great performance for the Jets. Just don't think he's a bench player.
He’s not.. he’s a half through and through kid just needs game time at 7..unless Moylan and Hynes miss a game for whatever reason we don’t get to see him play

It’s only 1 game but he showed he is a pure 7. Moylan looked comfortable with him also.

Made the most of a perfect platform laid down. Really is a good defender and his kicking have was pretty sharp.

The best part was he didn't overplay his hands or make any concentration mistakes. We'll done Tricky, that's all we wanted to see from the 10 minute stints!
