Nice of him to come to the party isn't it!

Last three weeks where Trindall has been one of the defenders of all time
Trindall: 36 tackles, 4 missed (90%)
Hynes: 71 tackles, 7 missed (91%)

Nicely above average for Trindall, who was only 85% average over the season before that (Hynes 92.1)
And actually well above his previous career best around 85.5% in 2023 (although still worse than Hynes' career low back in 2020)

The big difference in tackle volume probably helps keep Trindall a bit more energised for some of his late efforts too.
Although Hynes has made some pretty good cover tackles himself last few weeks. Probably helps him keep those attacking numbers up also - averages 2.7 try involvements a game, exceeding Hynes' own measley 2.6.
Although Cleary on 3.0 plus I Katoa and TMM edge them both.

Actually now that you mention it, maybe it is weird Trindall is getting so much praise for his defence and efforts at the moment?

For those playing along at home, this is not an attack on Trindall - all those numbers are good things!
I think he has been playing very well.

Just saying for all the hype around his current game, he's not blowing the more maligned (still getting chat about lock!?) Hynes away

Hey I've always said I don't mind which number they play - just WHY is it changing their roles and if it is, why do we want to change how Trindall is playing if it is so good?

And also the only evidence anyone has been able to give me Trindall is the better organiser is "anyone can see it", which, I need a post with a lot more detail than that to take anything from it.

Funny how the same thing is happening at Bulldogs with Galvin.

He doesn't need a number change, just an organiser to partner with to help with his running game.
 
Given the media trends, his form, and a dip from the Panthers, if we finish the year better then Penrith there is a very real possibility Tricky wins the Dally M.

Looking at the games since it went behind closed doors, the only game Cleary really would have looked in is the tigers thrashing. He's missed a bunch for origin and they've lost a couple.

Tricky could easily have polled 20 points or more in the same period which would have closed the 15 point gap.

Origin points count for Cleary though don't they? Game 3 I assume he got some.

Bit of a silly rule (including top 23 performances). They would be best off just suspending the Dally Ms during the 3 SOO rounds where players are stood down.

Otherwise a players best performance could be against a team with half the side stood down.

Ironically, we tend to lose those games anyway!

as long as they backed up.
Theoretically if their team had origin round byes three times, they play three origins and back up, they have 3 more games than their teammates

He certainly was perceived as a turning point signing. Which maybe he was in retrospect.
He did one thing though: give us hope after a few years of nothingness.
The guy could actually draw and pass!!!!!

But you know, when I see teams like Parra, Newie or Wests string in a few spoons on the trot, I think that however bad those times were, they could have been a lot worse.
