Official Braydon Trindall

All due respect but anyone who thinks Hynes is the worse half can rewatch that ****ing game on repeat until they admit fault.

Genuinely no idea why anyone thinks he should be handed the keys to the team.
I wonder if he will be one of the next bunch of players to go down the track, if he doesn’t develop his game and improve as a player ?

Unless there is other talent then no, our 1,6,7,9 are our key and I firmly believe they can do it.

Not unless one of the reserve halves kicks on. Trindall's still got something to offer and we could honestly get a prem with him, but in no way is this ever going to be 'his' team.

Shouldn’t even have the keys to his own car!
Haha nice.

But anyone who is dead set on Trindall is a natural ‘controlling’ half and Hynes is a bum at this stage ain’t ever changing their minds.
Yep.

I think we have enough of a sample size to know what Trindall's limitations are. Great mid-range kicking game and short passing game. Good show and go. Can jag a 40/20 from time to time. Good on short sides on the right. Can execute game plan for his coach. Solid defender for a half. High on effort.

When he has success doing those things over and over the commentators bang on about natural half nonsense and people will eat it up.

If you want your half to do something other than those things you will always be disappointed.

Happy with the 2 points.

People will watch Trindall have a cracking game in his usual role and insist that is evidence he needs a different role. Makes no sense.

And commentators and fans carry on about there can be only one who plays well each week, like every other team consistently gets the exact same number of try assist from both halves every week, but our guys are mortal enemies hellbent on outplaying each other.

Why do I feel like if they swapped hair the convo wouldn't exist...

This is the same for middles actually. "Sifa is a beast playing low minutes so should be playing big minutes".

Yep.

I thought Trindall did a good job of just running simple shape on the right to have a hand in some tries in against the Dragons. That's his sweet spot though. Simple shape on the right side from at or around the scrum line.

I think the experiment needs to be done.

Get a room, you two

Get a room, you two
@bort when you book the room can you make it for three please? This other bloke I know named Craig wants in on the action.

The reality is that when Trindall played without Hynes he played a certain way. When Hynes came back in Trindall didn't play any different. The number doesn't matter. What we have to do as a team is get their roles better connected and get them playing better together.

Yeah one thing I never get is that whole "one half can take it easy while the other one dominates" talk.

When Hynes and Trindall are both on, we are legit fire.

They reckon our halves are overpaid. What about Atko?
Lol what about Atko? He can stay at Dragons.

Hynes and Trindall are the way to go. Trindall has been reported to be on 650k a year, yeah and to be honest Hynes would get the same amount anywhere he would go.

You're telling me Hynes wouldn't get more than a mil at the dragons, cowboys, bears, eels, titans, tigers or even sea Eagles?

True but it's also the case when one 'stars' the other positively contributes to that being the case, most of the time.

It's rare one looks great and the other is genuinely poor.

And things like who is getting last pass etc which show one 'had the hot hand' are just as likely to come from both executing the game plan well than one actually being locked in and the other not.

Certainly not saying neither has ever had a bad game, but I don't think it is as black and white one plays well one doesn't as the commentary sometimes bring up

Atko would be one of the lowest paid starting halves in the comp. He’s a complementary piece. Makes for a bit of a bland attack having him and KF together but he may be a good second fiddle to Metcalf like he was for Nicho.
Yeah somehow got the impression he was on a lot more than that. Still makes our guys salaries look very fair.

Think he got a good bump up from 'backup' halves wages (which are usually still decent) but would still be at lower end of starters. Probably not wildly dissimilar to Trindall I wouldn't have thought.
