Ok, I’ll play devils advocate, not taking a shot @ you directly.
We all agree, Fitz has dropped minimal ‘regular’ players in 3.5 seasons?
That being the case, I’ll only ask you about one player.
(like your comment, just broadly expanding on the conversation and not a particular attack on your opinion by any means - also, relocating my response to trindall thread)
So is it the case that although many fans often call for droppings consistently (like, quite a lot, including in game hookings at far greater rate than anyone in the NRL has ever done) Craig has really only made one 'clear' (to us without full info, and in hindsight) mistake where, in his second season as coach, he didn't drop an experienced veteran* until what, 6 games later than he should have?
*with some of the better attacking stats in the league, who had just partnered a rookie halfback to a Dally M and second on the ladder and just needed to remember how to defend (but refused to)
To make it even more crazy or why did he sit on his hands for so long, Fitz ended up granting Moylan a release for the following season.
And committing to what you see as a (eventual) positive in Trindall being brought in is being viewed as a negative also? Surely that is a positive?

Well if we want to play devils advocate...
As a starting half under Craig Moylan had a win percentage of 62%
Vs Trindall's 53%
And Nicho's is 59% - weirdly enough it has been going down per season since Trindall came in.
Those half a dozen extra games Trindall could have had 3 seasons ago are really having a flow on effect!
I still view it as a move that needed to be made but these numbers provide at least as much counter argument as any
presumption we win an extra final if Trindall had played half a dozen or so more games. I do think Trindall should have been brought in sooner. He persisted with Moylan refusing to defend even longer than I would have, but I don't think it is fair to hold against Craig that Trindall theoretically could have won that final with a few more games under his belt that season, given his win percentage, including with another 36 games under his belt now.
We could move into 'but Trindall had the wrong shirt on' territory, but seriously, yawn. But I'll put a spin on it!
We can't point at Trindall playing well when he 'takes control' with Nicho out or underdone and say that is a role issue but then in another thread be saying oh the Dolphins are missing some stars they will probably step up instead of being complacent (or roosters aimed up and we didn't respect them). Isn't it just as likely Trindall and the others 'step up' when they don't have Nicho to rely on, and so the fault the rest of the time is theirs for not playing to their ability, and expecting him to carry?
This counterpoint just as provable as the 'genuine halfback out of position' argument.
