Poor bloke. To think 3 or 4 years ago we heavily relied on Toby and BHU as our main props - and were devastated when they were both often injured.

Fitz has done a great job slowly changing our team - without people realising he has been changing our team!
Always used to be said props peaked around that late 20s into very early 30 mark
Where the grit, strength and toughness they had been developing for years put them in position to be the roughest toughest middle competitor

Now with the 6 again era and the ‘faster’ (possession swing) football I wonder if it’s shifted back a couple years as the mobility in mid to late 20s is a bit more value

Obviously will be different for everyone, and the top guys of the last decade have often combined massive size with particular athleticism

Agree. I was worried about AFB in the first rounds this year. Thankfully the refs have dialed back a bit the last 10 weeks and he is getting back to being great again.

Even some bloke over on the Manly forum said how insane our forward depth is these days

No Toby, JC or Sifa and we still field a quality first grade pack come game day

It makes sense as our team isn't really about speed, crazy set plays, X Factor players or creativity. It's all about momentum and generating quick ruck speed to play off the back of which is when we are dynamite with the ball.

Can't achieve that without good stocks in the engine department

Even with our injury outs I can't remember the last time we had some many forwards firing and in form at the same time. They are all doing a great job at the moment

Thats the thing with our team. We all need to be a 7+ out of 10 each week.

As soon as a few are down on form, we don't really have the star power to individually win games.
