Ah yeah the article says Contact the charge listed though is Throw.

Would make more sense the charge is wrong as I have no idea when he lifted someone badly.

For a hip drop still harsh - if that complete accident is grade 2 what is grade 1?
You’re right I didn’t even look at the charge chart where they have him down as Throw

Agree thats harsh to call that a grade 2, and even missing a week for it imo

We should appeal Nikora's charge and bring in a physics professor to educate the panel on the basics of Newton's first law.

Hip drop... utter garbage. Nikora did not put the player in a dangerous position because of the style of the tackle. It was a 'see it a hundreds times over a weekend' tackle. He ran over and grabbed the player, and was swung around by the momentum of their movement. Bronwitch twisted in an attempt to find support inside and the combination of those factors lead to his leg being caught and twisted under Nikora's body.
The defence rests, your dishonour.

Nikora gets the charge in the same way as a charge for head contact on a player that slipped in the wet and fell into his shoulder. Crap rule.

It's embarrassing for any player to cop a charge for that tackle. Don't know what tacklers are meant to do.

Last resort is to go fetal and hope they fall over you... though you'd probably get charged for tripping

I would appeal for sure. When he gets off with an apology from for wasting his time, it will hopefully send a message to the refs to stop putting these on report.

We got penalised for a similar one from McInnes earlier in the year. His didn't get charged. Nearly identical tackles.

Yeah - problem with the early plea discount is that it incentivises players for pleading guilty when they did.m nothing wrong.

If Nikora takes the guilty plea, the next poor bastard who tries to fight it gets there and they show him the video of Nikora: “here is an example of a player found guilty of grade 2. That is identical to yours, therefore… guilty … 2 weeks”

We never seem to fight charges, bet we take the early plea.

Impressive to come back from an injury and play like that straight up like he hadn't even been missing - BHU has gone up a level or 2 this season, playing strong consistently. He obviously didn't wanna miss out on putting the pain on the purple scum

The tackle he was put on report for in second half was a fn joke, shouldnt have even been penalty. I didn't see contact with the head and if they are claiming shoulder charge you can see his right arm try to wrap around. He kinda wacks into him with his chest

This NRL administration pisses all over the game - players and fans. There won't be players around to protect anymore if the game goes down the route of becoming Oztag cause no one will wanna watch it anymore. So hard to make a good strong tackle these days without getting in trouble for it and now we might be without one of our best forwards over nothing

This bloke really does add so much to our pack. He could be the difference for us this year if he can get back to his best.

Yep. Put on report twice and not one of them charged.

It's like you are not allowed to hurt a player without drawing a penalty.

I reckon if Katoa stayed down we could have got 2 or 3 penalties. Same as Ronaldo - he was taken out twice before we finally got a penalty. I'm glad our players don't though.

I’m glad too but against Melbourne I wouldn’t called if we milked 100 penalties
