Good read about the big fella if anyone is interested

Focused and fit, monster prop Braden Hamlin-Uele looms as Cronulla's bench weapon

Determined to get back to the top, Hamlin-Uele overhauled his eating habits and upped his commitment to training in a bid to reboot his stagnant career.

His efforts have been duly rewarded, the front-rower featuring in consecutive NRL fixtures for the first time in the past two rounds.

"This year I think the light switch has clicked in," he says.

"My off-field stuff was a bit 'how ya going', so this year I've really cracked down.

"I was more than happy to play for Newtown. We had a great team and a great bunch of young blokes and made the grand final, so I was more than happy to wait my time.

"It's a personal thing. I'm 24 now and I think it's time that if I really want to do this, I have to realise it. It's unfortunate that it took so long to realise it but better late than never.

There's more to the article than this, including he's keen to take on the Broncos forward pack. Follow the link to read the whole thing if interested.

glad to see he is putting things in place, maturity is a wonderful thing
hope this guys continues to step up for us, especially at this time, I've seen it mentioned before, more time in 1st grade will be good for him.

I’ve been impressed by the Pied Piper in his last two games.

Really hope he has a big one.

Payne Haas has heaps of wraps as does TPJ but they are young and if they are unsettled they can make errors.

If the Pied Piper whistles his tune then the rats will certainly be exterminated.

Everyone patted TPJ on the back after the cowboys game for his great work and aggression and he didn’t quite get it and thought if he just went out wildly trying to smash blokes everyone would pat him on the back again. Missed a heap of tackles and got suspended.

Well it will test his defense which is my main issue with him and Williams in the past. All three of their main big guys like a hitup. I wanna see some nice workrate and efficiency, that **** really gets me feeling it in me waters.

I hadn't considered this either.

Perhaps we'll never know, unless endevour makes an appearance and can confirm.

Now that Kotoa has been dropped have you considered backing Uele for leading tryscorer? I'm guessing the odds might be OK.

Did his dad get married over the off season and take the women’s last name? How did the name change come about?

I don't think BHU will catch on as well as SBW, DCE or RTS.

It's just not very cool to have 1 surname anymore.

Love this big unit. I know it’ll be hard to fit him in when Woods comes back, but when Gal gives it away and Jack moves into the 13, this guy should be first cab off the rank for that bench spot.
